Well the pressure was put on me today to put 3 guys on some walleye. Mission accomplished

Of course, there is always one guy that outshines the others and today it was Mark's turn. I'm really starting to think there is really something to this phenomena called the "lucky hole"

Anyhoo, while Vern caught the first walleye his buddy AC was just finishing drilling his last hole when it happened. Bad things ALWAYS happen to AC.

One thing is for sure, he is highly entertaining. His Jiffy "quick connect" also worked in reverse so now it became a Jiffy "disconnect" and sploosh......down she went in 15 fow.
To be honest Mark did not really have any competition in the fish catching as Vern and I sucked. My first fish was a perch.

AC is most often the best angler (he cheats because he uses 2 flashers.......but we don't tell him that

) but today he spent the better part of the morning fishing for his auger flyte

After making 10 holes with my auger flyte (I counted

) he tried McGuivering a grappling hook while Vern went shoulder deep to grab a walleye that fell off his hook at the hole

The entertainment for Mark and I was non-stop........I even had to turn my chair to watch the show.

I later Lockported Mark........(I'm allowed cuz I was the guide

) and I finally landed my first walleye of the day. Soon Mark had his limit on the ice by now so he started helping AC .
AC is now looking for a volunteer that wants to do the Polar Bear Plunge........at a certain spot on LK WPG

Finally an AC fishing story. Been far too long between AC disasters. Good thing the rest of the crew turned it into a good day.

That sucks ! Hopefully he can snag it, what about an industrial strength magnet ? Small ones can lift 40lb.

Kind of a crapty day on my part. Loosing the flyte, not being able to drive because I'm still eating T3's from my teeth extraction Wednesday. Sitting on the ice gargling salt water and sterilizer. Still...it was lots of fun. I have to apologize to Blue though. He took us out to his spot and I endlessly picked his ass. It was fun though. I could see him shooting dirty looks though those silver sunglasses.

I can't thank you enough for dragging me out of the house today Ron.

One other word...FIREWOOD !!! LMAO !!

That firewood caught me a fish today and didn't cause me to lose a flyte.....touche

Geez, thats too bad guys AC deep sixing half his auger and all $:-\$ . On the plus side everyone caught fish though. Going to have to set up a recovery mission there in the near future

Sorry to hear that. The fishin hole has flytes for Jiffys if that's what it was or cabelas has an Eskimo 43cc auger 8'' for $304. I might consider doing the polar bear plunge just to find your good spot.

This has been an entertaining thread and although I am a Jiffy fan I think you should send them an invoice for the man hours / equipment costs for the recovery effort. That and a well written letter may get you a new flyte

To bad AC,
Kinda suprized you didnt get it! I have had to fish out 6 rods, one transducer, a camera, a set of car keys and my cell phone, camera and cell didnt work but the cell was dropped by the buddy and he replaced it. Most of those were on the river with the heavy current. If you have a bud that would trust you with his auger, drill 3 or 4 holes together to make a big one then you can move the line you are useing around. Just a thought, it worked for me. Yes all, I am cheap, like all Manitobans, so AC if you are giving up send me your coordinates for my GPS, I can allways use another flyte or maybe a bigger one as mine is only 8" lol.

Some of the old timers might even have one that just has Hooks/Teeth used for blocks of ice.

With 2 Ropes you could hold the jaws open until you got a good grasp the pull away
