Chubby Darters

So, I drank the Kool-aid and bought a couple Salmo Chubby Darters. I have read quite a bit about them on the main board but was wondering what the Idaho guys had to say. What size, color, and jigging technique has worked the best? Also, on what species?

IMO it's just like any other lure.  Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.  I personally prefer a jigging rap over a chubby darter.  They are more expensive, I think, but I've caught a lot more on the JR than on a CD.

Not that I`m even close to you guys or your lakes,buuuuut,around my neck of the woods,I use the Zip or chubby darters as the atractors and drop a rap for the hit... JT

Yep,  I also use them as an attactor lure and then fish the small stuff.

Do you guys tip your jiggin raps? I've tried the darters, with limited success, usually do just fine with a mudbug or bloodworm.

If I tip the jiggin rap with something, I'm more likely to get little ones, but if I don't I only get bigger ones.  The bigger ones don't seem to care if it's tipped or not.
