Big shakeup with the work schedule.  With 3 cashiers....One being a part time student.  The other lady....guess 51-52 died in her sleep Tuesday.  Double duty for a while I guess.

Good morning in the upper twenties heading to a forecast high of forty one . Sky is already cloudy rain supposed to start this afternoon and end sometime on Saturday.
Icefisher-45 happy to read your wife's blood sugar level is down in the one hundreds think until her body adjusts she will feel tired at times. Sounds like your medication change is helping you sleep better but not doing anything to prevent or lesson frequency of the headaches.
Eddie figured somethings might be different with the concrete mix and how it was protected during the curing process in colder weather. If you get out this afternoon may you see deer and get a shot at one.
Ice Wanderer never realized the automatic generators ran on propane makes sense if a person's natural gas supply is interrupted from a power company . We used propane for cooking at the house agree the delivery charge is high. May all go well with today's test run.
Old Goat have a good visit with your daughter is she going to come home with you for the Holidays or still has finals to take before the semester ends.May you get out on the ice before years end.
Hunts2long thank you for the information on GSL I figure the reservoir was for electric power generation.
IFF sad to read of your coworkers death at a still young age. Don't run your self down to much during this holiday season helping to cover her hours until a replacement is hired.
Wallyworld thank your for the explanation on how bakery /confection truffles received their name. The fungi truffles are highly prized and command a high price along with the oil made from them. I'm not sure if this is because they are difficult to grow commercially so only found in the wild in certain parts of the world. Do know pigs were and may still be used to find the truffles in the wild do to their strong sense of smell. Believe now dogs are being trained and used to locate the truffles easier to control a dog once the truffle is found the pigs like to eat the truffles.
Whopper Stopper have a good day with whatever is on your agenda. Hope any changes made to your wife's eye medication(s) is working.
Capt.Jim glad you are finished with jobs until after Christmas unless someone contacts you about a small easy paint job. Enjoy the time off.

Have a safe and good day . Best to all fishing and hunting.

Good Evening Everyone, Took Mr Dickens out for a walk today at the lake. Getting ice not sure if I would go out on it now. My wife has been busy at work she gets out at 7. Her sugar has been good.

IFF, I’m sorry to hear about your co worker. Be careful working double shifts and make sure you think of your health first.

WallyWorld, Thats great you got all your wrapping done. I still got to do that.

Captain Jim, Thats good you don’t have any jobs until after Christmas.

Hunts2long, Were you able to find a generator?

I hope everyone had a great day and everyone has a great evening with friends and family.

                    Good morning ER's,
It's 35* and raining here on my hill. ::)
I-45...…….I bet it felt good to get out for a walk with Mr. Dickens, I wouldn't trust the ice just yet.
Steve...….Some of those bigger generators will run on natural gas as well, we don't have it here so I mentioned propane
because that's what is used in the country.
                           Bud...…….Don't over work yourself.
Wally.......No wrapping for me this year, my wife and I vowed not to buy any gifts for each other this year. :P And I give my
grand kids a deposit in to a investment account that I opened up for each of them on their first birthdays.
Eddie......How did you make out on the way home.? ???
Marv.......I guess you got some snow yesterday, how much did you get.? ???
Yesterday my test run on my generator went well. I ran the generator for an hour with 3 circuits on, but I tried them all.
Here are some pictures of the installation.

I hope everyone has a good Saturday either at work or out.

Good Morning Jeff, Morning Everyone,
The weather conditions are not very favorable here for hunting today, 41* with light steady rain falling, high of 43.
Rain started yesterday afternoon on my drive home so took a pass on the afternoon hunt as well.

I-45...bet Mr.Dickens was happy getting out to stretch his legs. Did you try engaging the 4wd yet in the Jeep?
Wally...congrats on finishing up with all the Christmas gifts!    I’m thinking today will be a good day for me to get the shopping out of the way as well.
Steve...when I worked on that big Chip Plant project, we also used a glycol/hot water machine to keep the concrete warm as well and prevent any freezing.  It’s basically a boiler with long flexible hoses that are laid out and then covered with the heating blankets.
Capt.J....enjoy the time off, you deserve it!
Bud...sorry to read of your coworker’s passing, wow!  X3 on Steve’s reply.
H2...it will be cookie day here today, I’m an odd’s on favorite for getting yelled at sampling!   ;D
OG...safe travels and a nice visit with your daughter.  Darn nice of the Casino to help you out with the shopping!
Jeff...thanks for sharing the pictures and the info, looks like a fine job!!   I got whacked pretty good with the electrical when I was young...still carrying that fear of it, lol.

Hoping the rain showers will diminish by the afternoon, the deer hunting clock is ticking away....ends on Tuesday.
Not a big fan of online shopping, but going to give that a whirl as soon as I finish up here.
  Cawfee’s on...
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those hunting/fishing!

Good morning IW Good morning everyone

A crisp 16 with temperatures dropping throughout the day, -12 by tonight.

IW Good looking job and setup  We ended up with another 2" on top of Thursday 2". Yesterday I had to scrape and blow spending some time at the end of the dive keeping the plow trucks buildup in check, there was getting to be a hump at the end.

Eddie looking foreword in hearing if you made it out yesterday, and if you re going today. If so best of luck

We are taking a ride deep into Wisconsin today, leaving right now from the sound of the blowing horn ???. There was freezing rain over there so I hope we can skip having to deal with ice roads. We are spending the night, be back mid day Sunday.

Hope you all have an excellent day  Stay safe.

40* and rain here this morning.
WS, safe travels today.
Eddie, the weather this past hunting season was not the best. Lots of wind, snow too early for my liking. Did see a pretty nice buck yesterday, so at least one make it...lol.
Ice-45, I looked around, on-line at generators. It drives the wife nuts, I will look and look before I buy anything.
Mr. Clean, they do make some power at the dam. Not sure how much or where it goes.
Salt truck just went by the house.
WW, I get to do up the dishes and sometimes sample a warm cookie.
Have a good day...h2l

Good Morning Everyone, 44* here and raining. My wife is home today and is tired. We have a few errands to do this morning. 4WD is working but Jeep has a gas smell when starting up.

Hunts2long, I’m the same way, drives my wife crazy that I have to research things. Warm cookies are worth doing the dishes.

Whopper Stopper, Safe travels to deeper Wisconsin. Are you looking for ice to go fishing?

Mason Eddie, Mr Dickens did enjoy getting out yesterday. Was good getting out. Hopefully you get out in the woods today.

Ice Wanderer, Thats good your test went well with the generator.

I hope everyone has a great day and a safe one.

Good afternoon rain over night and the light drizzle still falling has melted most of what snow cover we had still so ice cover on smaller pond. Unless my area sees temperature around freezing during daytime and below freezing overnight probably will be waiting until after New Years Day to ice fish. Busy morning earlier in the week received a notice from one of my insurance companies my premium was past due date. So I checked my records and found that I sent the payment on Nov.27TH figured notice and payment passed each other in the mail. In my mail box yesterday to my shock and surprised was returned envelope with my payment it had made it to regional postal center in Albany,NY. spent over a week there and was returned to me. So this morning trip to post office and sent payment priority mail now have receipt and tracking number if insurance company does not get the payment. Also had other errands to run. Once home one of my fellow complex residents waves my over in parking lot and asks if I can help her with her car she could not get the parking brake released someone had moved her car and then returned it to her parking spot after our last snow. Thankfully Iwas able to release the brake think she did not realized she needed to depress button on end of parking brake lever to get it to release.
Eddie today's weather will limit visibility in the woods best to you if you go out hunting. Thanks for sharing your tricks of the trade on how you keep the concrete from freezing during the Winter time.
Ice Wanderer when my parents first bought the house my sister and I sold last year it was like living in the country well, septic tank and propane for cooking, oil for heating/hot water. Dead end street and i guess previous owners never hooked up to town/public services when they became available. After around two months of our ownership well pump went bad there was atown water line so my parents made the switch. The spetic system was not in the best condition we had to put in an additional dry-well to use washing machine and leach field was bad resulting in pooling water at times in our back yard. Since surrounding properties had town sewer my Dad lead the movement to get a line for our street. The house still had propane and oil heat/hot water when we sold it. There is a natural gas line part way down the street that a few house are hooked up to believe at least one person might still have a septic tank. Glad all went well with electric system test run with generator.
Icefisher-45 good to hear you and Mr.Dicken's got out for a walk. Sounds like your Jeep may not be in the best condition in spite of what your church friend and previous owner told you at time of sale.May the gas odor be a simple and cheap fix appears the Jeep is starting to nickel and dime you with needed maintenance issues.
Whopper Stopper may you and the wife have a safe trip to "Deep" Wisconsin .
Hunts2long good you get to sample some of the cookies as reward for cleaning the dishes used to bake them.
Wallyworld hope you did not get to much snow. How much Holiday baking is left to do this year.

Have a good Saturday afternoon and evening.  Best to all fishing and hunting.
  Steve

34* this morning. We got some heavy rain last night about 5:30. If the lake gets anymore water on top of the ice I may be able to put the boat in. There is only ice on this end of the lake, the rest was still open as of Friday.

WS, can't wait to see more pictures of your "early" Christmas present.

I have been seeing a few deer around. Even some bucks. My brother saw a very nice 10 point. My sisters son-in-law shot a very nice buck during the season. 11pt with a drop tine. My wife has a picture of it on her cell phone but can't get it e-mailed to me. She will ask Lindsay to do it for her today. They are going to Trader Joe's in Albany.

My nephew has gone down south somewhere to MZ hunt with the guy that shot the 9 pt I posted. I talked to the guy yesterday, he had passed on 3 bucks during the season and hadn't seen the big one on his cameras. It scored around the 150's and was 5 to 6 years old. He said he was just in the right spot at the right time.

Have a good day....h2l

Eddie....good luck if you're in the woods this morning, trees are sure rocking here

MrC.....baking is mostly done now, at least until I see a new recipe I think I need to try

H2L.....I was driving last night when that downpour was going on, not fun at all  :nono: :o :pinch:  good luck on the alley tonight  :flex:

IF45.....hope you can get the Jeep's problems cleared up before winter really sets in  :-\

IFF.....how you holding up sir  ???  hopefully management has stepped up and either helped cover the extra hours or brought help in from another store somewhere  :)

MrC,,,,,hope you're catching up on your rest and enjoying the "down" time  ;)

Not much happening here, snow/rain mix with a pretty stiff breeze, good day to do "nothing" I think.

Have a good day whatever's on the agenda. Stay safe.

Good day the sky has brightened some for this morning still partly cloudy and windy. Think middle of this week I will see a couple of nights with lows in the single digits.
Eddie may you get a deer if you are out in the woods today.
Ice Wanderer I fel there are pros and cons to having city/town water-sewer service and power company natural gas service. You do save on taxes having your own water source but if something happens to that source mostly your problem to fix. Much like many other things in life. May your wife have a good visit with her mother and a safe trip. Best to her with the therapy. I do wish the cook stove and oven here at the condo were gas powered instead of electric. Nice to still have the stove during an electric power outage.
Hunts2long best to you and your teammates at the bowling alley tonight. may your nephew and his friend both harvest one last deer for this season.
Wallyworld from the amount of cookies and other treats you bake for the fire dept. family and friends you obviously enjoy baking and decorating some of the cookies.
Whopper Stopper may you have a safe trip home with the new spearing shack from your photo I'm a little concerned that the trailer brake/directional lights are visible to other motorists may just be camera angle. Hopefully you can set the shack out and use it soon.
IFF ditto Wallyworld's comment i know it is not easy for retailers to switch employees from one store to another during the holiday season.
Capt.Jim during this down time from work may you get the work vehicle cleaned and organized go through the ice fishing gear and complete your Christmas preparations.
Tom Turkey may all be well with you the wife and family.

Have a safe and good Sunday. Best to all fishing and hunting enjoy your time in the outdoors.

Good afternoon everyone

Well we made it home. The roads were better today but it was a lot colder, I think about half way home it was still -15.

Well here's my story.

My wife sent me an ad from Market place (Face Book) while on her way to work from the bus. It had just been placed and it said "Need to sell immediately" and went on telling about the house and there were a couple pictures. It's the exact same design as the other house. I had no intention of buying it being things are still up in the air with the the dispute, but when I heard the story things changed.........   2 brothers bought this house last year to go sturgeon spearing. They had it built and paid $2200 for it. They sat in it 2x during the sturgeon season and as bad luck would have it their dad unexpectedly died, ending their season. When they were taking care of the estate they got into a heated argument over money and ended up enemies, hating each other to the extent that the one brother sold his house and is moving out of the state to get away from the other brother. He either wanted his half for the house build, or at least 1/2 of the sale for what it sold for.

The brother I dealt with put the price at $1500 just to get rid of it, and tick his brother off. I told him I could be there by 11am Saturday if he guaranteed to hold it until noon and he said he would. It was only listed 2 hours when I saw it. My wife and I talked it over and decided to go check it out, I am glad we did.

It's nicer than the other house, and over $700 less. It's 7'x7' and when tipped up it's 6'9"high. The spear hole is 6'8"x3' so I will make that smaller. It's insulated with 1 1/2" insulation and metal to wood fit is perfect. He said with -20 weather they used a little buddy heater on medium and it was plenty warm in there. The guy that built it for them was an older guy, and had built and sold over 200 houses. This particular house happened to be his last build, as he decided there wasn't enough profit anymore for the time he put in them, along with material costs. There has never been a fish caught in the house which is something to fix.

Now I hope Visa comes through on the other house.

I'm not sure about the stickers on it, my wife likes them ???

Good Morning Everyone,
Fairly calm 22* this am, high of 32 forecasted.

Bud...my sincere condolences to you and the entire family on your loss, so sorry to read that. Thoughts and prayers sent from NY.
OS...best wishes sent to your wife with today’s appointment, will be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers also with tomorrow’s procedure.
Marv...Congratulations and great score on the new spear shack, that looks awesome!!   Will be looking forward to your report on the maiden voyage soon and many more to follow. Hope it serves you well...X3 on the stickers! :icefish:
OG... hope you had a nice weekend with your daughter....find any good buys with that Casino $$?
Jeff...safe travels to your wife on her return, hope all is well with her Mom.   Didn’t get out hunting over the weekend, rained all day Saturday, high winds here yesterday and a Birthday party for my granddaughter at noon put the kibosh to it. Will try it again this afternoon and tomorrow’s closer.
H2...that was a slammer buck your nephews friend got! Hopefully some of his luck rubbed off on your nephew....best of luck to him finishing off the season!    How were the lanes last evening?
Wally...another fine looking batch of cookies, yum!
Steve...hope the car issues are all in check now.

Some pretty lousy weather conditions over the weekend, but we can’t change that right?   ;D
Wasn’t a total loss I guess, gave me some time to clear out the freezer and my harvest of hot/sweet peppers to make some pepper jelly. Turned out pretty good....
Back to block work again this morning I believe...Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing/hunting!
