Eddie, its left, but will return tomorrow, didn't get the boat or all of the deck cleared.

Hope everyone's day goes well, and not run out of gravy.  Think I might have to bite my tongue more than once.  Or just take a nap, hope everything gets healed, World included.

                Good morning Eddie, ER's,
It's 20* and I'm sure the snow that is left on the ground is very crunchy. ::)
Eddie...…….I hope your head clears so your work day won't seem to take forever.
I-45...……..I'm glad your wife's blood sugar is down, did they put her on some meds to take?
Bud...……..Boy, are you guys getting hammered out there. :%$#!:
Yesterday my wife and I went to my #2 son's in-laws for dinner, it was a nice time. Linda, the mother in-law is also a cancer survivor. :flex:
I'm contemplating on goin out this morning or not with the crunchy snow. ???
I hope everyone has a good Friday either at work or out shopping for deals.

Good Morning Everyone, I never understood the draw to go stand in line for hours to go shopping. Watching the news and listening to the weather guessers. People around here are panicking about snow. What would these people do if we got the same amount of snow Bud did? Massachusetts would be shut down. My wife is still sleeping. She slept most of the night. 🤗🤗.

Ice Wanderer, Thats good you had a nice time at son #2s house for dinner. I wish they would put more money into Cancer research instead of some of the other things that are common sense. My wife is on insulin and metformin and lisinopril. She sees her new pcp Wednesday as well as seeing a eye Dr on Tuesday for her vision problems. Be careful out there if you decide to go out.

Mason Eddie, Hope today isn’t to bad at work today.

I hope everyone has a great day and a safe one. God Bless

Morning all,

IF45......prayers to Mrs45 for continued good reports  ;)

IW.....nice that MrsIW has someone in the family that has been where she is now and can lend moral support  :flex:  good luck if you hit the woods

Eddie.....surprised to hear you're working today     hope the crisp air helped you focus  ;D

IFF.....hope there aren't too many sore muscles after clearing all that snow   :flex:

MrC.....did your nephew make it home for Thanksgiving  ???  safe travels if you're returning home today

CapJ.....must be a good feeling knowing the AC job is behind you now, at least until the next phone call from there comes in  :woot:

WS.....hoping your day was quiet yesterday and there was no power outages or any other storm related problems  ;)

H2L.....good luck if you're in the woods today  :)  guessing you'll be having left overs today  ???

TT......hope the dinner went well yesterday    I agree, a table of desserts is better than a turkey dinner any time   :woot:

Not much planned today except staying far away from any stores, never got into the "Black Friday" frenzy   :nono:   :cookoo:

Have a good day whatever your plans. Stay safe.

Good day think today's temperature high is supposed to be around forty feels colder with the wind. During the drive to my Sister and BIL's home had the radio on to get traffic reports was surprised to hear they did have the balloons at Macy's parade sister said she watched some of the parade before starting meal preparation and the balloons were kept low to the street. i mentioned yesterday I found some info. on the Macy's parade and the balloons. The first parade was held in 1924 I don,t know if the parade was ever canceled during World War 2 years. in the history of the parade balloons have only been grounded once back in 1971. There have been three balloon accidents ,1997 "Cat in THe Hat" hit a light pole spectators hurt ,2005 once again a balloon hit a light pole and spectators hurt and in 2017 small balloon struck a tree and popped no one was hurt.
OldSailor,Hoserman thankyou for the Thanksgiving Day greeting .Hope the two of you and your families had a great day.
Eddie thought you would have a four day weekend guess the thought is you and the crew can lay a lot of blocks today with less traffic and people in the area.
Ice Wanderer glad you and the wife had a nice time at son#2's in-laws. Ditto Wallyworld's comments about son#2's MIL.
Icefisher-45 may the insulin and medications keep wife's blood sugar levels in check. Her visions problems maybe related to the blood sugar problems. Happy to read the two of you had a good thanksgiving.
Wallyworld hope you spent yesterday with relatives or friends since Mr.WW was at hunting camp. My nephew attends Steven's Institute of Technology in Hoboken,NJ. so can take NJ. transit train home i did not see much of him as he was under the weather must have picked up some bug at school He is doing better today when I called my sister to tell her i was safely home she told me he was out with some high school friends who are also home from college. they are shopping  for a group meal tonight at someone's house. May he not pass his bug onto any of his friends.
IFF glad you are getting a repreve between snow storms.i was taking with a cousin who lives in Casper ,WY. on Wednesday evening exchanging Thanksgiving greetings she had around 6 inches of snow on the ground. I told her i had a internet friend who lived in the greater Denver,CO. are and that he had 24 inches and the town where you work had 36 inches. I Shared those snow totals with my Sister and she was shocked thankfully only once in a while a blizzard will drop 24 or more inches in her area of northern NJ. or in my area.
Whopper Stopper may you and the "girls" have had a good Thanksgiving hope you also are getting a repreve from snow.
Tom Turkey may the weather have been pleasant and everyone enjoyed a good thanksgiving meal by the lake.
Hunts2long hope everyone enjoyed your wife's cooking and all of you had a good day.
Capt.Jim,Old Goat and others who post here in the (;45 with some regularity all have had good Thanksgiving days.

Since i was already in northern NJ i drove from my sisters and BIL's to Paramus ,NJ. and visited the cemetery  where my parents, grand parents and some other relatives are buried and decorated graves for Christmas and drove home from there. thankfully the cemetery is not near the big shopping malls in Paramus. I did make a detour around a big outlet store mall in my area drove through a state park many people out hiking added some miles to my trip but did not want to possibly get stuck in traffic.

Have a good afternoon and evening.
Steve

Good Morning Everyone,
Clear skies 21* this am, light NW winds, high of 33 today. Looking like that snow Bud and Marv had will be arriving here tomorrow into Monday. If the guessers are correct, 10-12” tomorrow, 8” on Monday...might just get a 3 day weekend after all.   ;D

Steve... thanks for sharing the history on the parade balloons. I’m wondering if the 1971 parade they were grounded in is the same year I remember a blizzard on Thanksgiving Day as a kid? Can recall my younger brother and I jumping off our porch into what seemed like feet of snow, lol. Glad to read you spent the day with your sister and family, hopefully next trip you’ll get to spend more time with your nephew...best of luck to him with his courses!
Bud...fingers crossed we get the same reprieve with the snow! Hope you’re fairing well after all that snow removal and nothing else in the forecast for awhile.
Wally...the crisp cold air worked wonders yesterday, or was it the Ibuprofens?   :roflmao:  Best of luck to Mr.WW tagging out this weekend!
I-45...the news people seem to be very gifted at creating the panic mode, especially with the weather. Hope your wife is feeling better and the meds are working properly with no side effects!   How much snow are they calling for in your area?
Jeff...the head was a little fuzzy yesterday morning, not a big wine drinker..but they sure went down without too much trouble!   ;D.  Glad you had a nice dinner with your sons in-laws and I’m sure it was somewhat comforting for your wife to speak with Linda...thoughts and prayers continued.  Best of luck with the hunting....getting closer to the end of the season now!
H2...I’m wearing “ the Hat “ again today for luck!   ;D.  Best of luck to you today if you’re heading out!
Marv...hoping you’re at the shack with your rifle or bow waiting on that big buck again!

Got to work yesterday morning and found out about half the crew took the day off. Didn’t realize there was a concrete pour scheduled... believe my eyeballs and facial expressions resembled this... :woot:
Heading back to the woods today with my hunting/fishing partner since high school days. Hopefully the incoming weather will get the deer motivated. Will keep you posted....Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing/hunting!

  Morning Bud,
That’s good news on the new snow...not so much on the winds! Be careful with the driving today and drifting!

Steve..did a fast check on the weather in Albany, Thanksgiving Day 1971....I was 10 years old then, guess my long term memory is still holding up!   ;D

18* this morning.
We had a great Thanksgiving. Had left overs last night.
No deer yesterday AM, but did see 3 in the Pm. One I know was a doe, the other two, not sure. Had a feeling one was a buck by the way it was acting. Just couldn't put horns on it. Not sure how long I will last this morning, but I am having my oatmeal.
Good Luck, Eddie....h2l

Eddie.....good luck today, hope the hat does the trick  :flex:

IFF.....from all the pictures of your area on tv the past few days it sure looks like you've gone into full winter mode  :o :o  now you just need the lakes to freeze up before the next big storm  :icefish:

H2L.....glad you had a good Thanksgiving   fingers crossed today is THE day  :flex: ;)2

MrC.....I see Cornwall beat Carthage yesterday to win back to back titles    hope your nephew is continuing to feel better  :)

We had great weather for Thanksgiving. There were 20 people that showed up. As usual every one went home with plenty of left overs. The wife's 89 year old uncle remarked on how well our two joined families got along so well together. As usual my chef son got the job of carving the turkey. He said it was the easiest turkey he had ever carved. Though we could have bought a turkey for 33 cents a pound but we paid way more for a butterball. We tried those cheap turkeys once. They must be old hens that were way long past their prime. We spent most of yesterday sorting out stuff we had taken down for the dinner. I got put back into tubs so we do not l have to did it out again for Christmas

Eddie I have a friend like yours that I started hunting deer with his family back in 1957. We do not hunt of fish  that much together as he is 78 and I am 76. We do some spring turkey hunting yet. When his grandmother passed away his mother was introducing me as her adopted son as I spent so much time at their house. Fact is he is more of a brother to me than my own brother.

RAQ The high winds and high lake level have destroyed a lot of the cement walk ways along the lake shore in Holland in the last week. I have not heard of any more houses either getting demolished or going into the lake recently.

Steve On another site a guy posted picture of Santa and his reindeer in a parade. The reindeer had deer horns on backwards. I got into black Friday ONCE. That was all it took me to stay away from it. By the time we got through the check out line some of stuff had gone past the time the sale was for.

IF-45 I am going to add to what IW said about a dietician. If she does not have an diabetic specialist she needs one. I had both when I was first diagnosed with type 1.  I was the only type one in my diabetic class. All of the rest were Type 2 and in denial. The dietician was always holding up a deck of cards saying that is the size a portion meat should be.
I snuck in my mother over size deck of cards as she was losing her eye sight do to her diabetes. The dietician about threw her deck of cards at me when I held up my deck of cards. Between her and my diabetic specialist it made is a lot easier for me to get  things under control. Counting carbs took some time to get used to but it became easier as time went by so I knew how much insulin to take.

Time to get busy making apple sauce. It will take me a couple of days to get the bushel processed.

Good Morning Everyone, 19 degrees here this morning. My wife is feeling better. Her sugar is still in the mid 200s. She saw a eye Dr who did a glaucoma test to see if she had any damage due to the diabetes. No damage but she is having vision issues. She has a eye exam Tuesday. We are both surprised We didn’t catch this. I was a Paramedic and she works in a hospital.

WallyWorld, Those cookies look delicious especially the peanut butter blossoms.

Hunts2long, Today is a good day for Oatmeal.

Ice Wanderer, Thats ridiculous that a store won’t have a generator for a week. Hopefully you have a snowblower so you don’t have to shovel. You are right it is a lifestyle change. She will be talking to a diabetic dietician at her hospital.

Mason Eddie, Good luck in the woods today.

IFF, Thats good news your getting a reprieve from the snow.

Mr Clean, Thank you for the history of the Macey Day parade. I’m glad you got to spend time with your family.

I hope everyone has a great day and a safe one. God Bless.

Icefisher 45,i went in last year and they said my blood sugar was over 400 and about ready to stroke out.never knew i was diabetic, anyways my vision was bad with high sugar levels but once mine stayed below 120 my vision got much better.i think my doc diagnosed me wrong because my bs level rarely climb over 140 after eating and i have not taken insulin in a year.i check my blood sugar everyday still.hope you guys can get that blood sugar lower.anyways have a good day everyone.

Tom Turkey, I just saw that you were posting while I was posting. That’s great that your two families get along. That is very rare. Butterball is a good Turkey. That dietician must have been surprised when you held up your deck of cards. Only positive thing is her sisters are texting and calling her to see how she is doing.

Whopper Stopper, Glad you had a Happy Thanksgiving. Are you getting out in the woods today?

Dr Speckler, Diabetes is a strange disease. They thought I had diabetes because my sugar was elevated about a year ago. My primary figured it was because I had a massive weight gain and lived in a darkened room because of my accident. Since I’ve been more active my sugars have been good. I was fortunately not prescribed insulin. We are going to be watching both our diets from now on.

Good day sunny with light wind and mostly blue sky. The calm before tomorrow's snow storm may see up to 12 inches on the ground by time storm ends on Monday with periods of sleet mixed in with the snow pretty typical for Winter storms in my area as many times the temperature is within 5 degrees above or below freezing at 32F.
Eddie and Icefisher-45 you are welcome for the info. on Macy's Thanksgiving day parade.
Eddie I don't remember the Thanksgiving day Blizzard of 1971 ,thank you for the link it mentions snow on thanksgiving in 1989 which i remember my paternal grandparents resided in borough of Queens for a number of years we would go down the night before and then get up early and take the subway system to Manhattan to view the parade usually from somewhere in the fifties or sixties once Santa passed head back to the subway and grandparents home for the big meal or to go out to dinner at a restaurant which had a Thanksgiving meal special for $20or$25 per person .Good price for NYC the restaurant did not serve alcohol due to owner's religious beliefs.
Ice wanderer sorry Tractor Supply did not have the generator in stock. Have a good trip to Vermont take more then an extra pair of socks in case you do not come home on Monday. I assume one of your son's watches your house and takes care of the weather cat.
Hunts2long glad you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving day. Best to you with today's hunting. Also may you and your bowling team rebound from last week tomorrow night provide weather permits all of you to get to the bowling alley.
Wallyworld I wonder how long it would be before you started posting photos of cookies for the fire dept. party. To bad Mr.WW will not be able to provide quality control since he is at hunting camp. ::) Did you make chocolate chip cookies in the shape of ginger bread men?
Tom Turkey it is good when combined families get along happy the weather was pleasant and everyone had a good time plus went home with leftovers. i believe "Butter Ball" brand turkeys are injected with a butter solution during processing to help keep the bird juicy during roasting and make for easier carving.
Whopper Stopper I've had connection problems at times the past few days forget to talk with my neighbors and see if they have a computer and the same problems. I assume most of us here use the same internet service provider since we are not allowed to have the small satellite dishes. Good to read you and the "Girls" had a nice thanksgiving.
Icefisher-45 with time medication and diet changes your wife's blood sugar level drop and stabilize. i think with both of your's concerns about your medical issues probably missed early warning signs that your wife might be diabetic . sad it takes an event like this before her sister maintained more contact with your wife. May the vision problems resolve as her blood sugar level gets under control.
Dr.Speckler welcome to the 9:45 thread feel free to stop in at any time. Happy for you that the diabetic issue is under control.

Have a good Saturday. May all in the path of coming snow storm not be affected to badly from it.
 Steve

Good Evening Everyone, My wife is feeling better tonight. Sugar is still in the mid 200s. The landlord just left after meeting with the plow guy. Not sure where they are going to put the snow. He doesn’t treat the driveway which will be interesting since it’s a hill onto the road. Good thing she’s not working this week.

Mr Clean, It is good that her sisters are getting involved in her life. They are back on the maybe she should leave me because of all my medical issues it would be less stress for her and I could go on the system.

WallyWorld, Very clever idea turning the cookie upside down to make it look like a reindeer.

I hope everyone had a great day and has a great evening with family and friends. God Bless

At work today see they couldn't open the back door, 5' drift right up against it.  Need a bobcat to clear the whole length of the building.....Not my problem  ::) :o See I have the same model Ariens blower as we gave the kids.  There stopped blowing, and figured out both of the shear pins were missing, text them, they went straight away to Home depot and got new ones $6.  Made their day saved them an $$$ service call.  Called me back to say thanks, its blowing like a new machine now.  Put some belt dressing on mine and adjusted it so it moves a lot faster now too.  Now for the rest of the snow clearing for tomorrow, boat cover included  ;D

Good Morning Everyone,
  Welcome to December!
14* and calm at the moment, high of 26 today. We might see some snow this am, but the bulk will be arriving this afternoon into tomorrow...last report I heard on local news saying 12-24” for my area.

Jeff...safe travels today to Vermont!
H2... hope you had better luck in the woods yesterday than I did, best of luck today and on the lanes this evening!
Wally...another fine looking  batch of cookies, yum!!   :clap:Will be looking forward to the reindeer cookies being frosted, they may be the only deer I see this season!   ;D
Tom...tough to beat those Butterball turkeys! That’s so awesome you and your partner still get out hunting together, wishing you guys many more years of comradery!
Marv...sounds  like the gremlins have paying you another visit, hope the computer is working better today. Glad you and the ladies had a great Thanksgiving! Shouldn’t be too long before the ice is ready, will be looking forward to spearing season!
Steve...I’ve always remembered that Thanksgiving Day in particular when someone mentions how much snow we use to get, lol. Imagine your store will be very busy today!
I-45... glad your wife is feeling better and the numbers are stable...best wishes continued!
Bud...glad everything is up and running with snowblower’s...will give mine the maiden voyage sometime this afternoon/evening.

Sat for 4 1/2 hours yesterday morning...nothing seen other than a handful of chickadees, one owl, and two red squirrels chasing each other like kids playing tag, lol. Heard 4 shots total, nothing close.
Never did see one deer on the way or the drive back home which was pretty odd.
Heading back again this morning...Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing/hunting!

Good luck to everyone in the woods or on the water. May everyone have a safe day. God Bless

Morning all,

Weatherman says 1' - 2' of snow, some wind some sleet/freezing rain  :pinch:   looks like it's going to get real messy this afternoon/evening, guess I'll do some more puttering in the kitchen  ;)2

MrWW decided to pack it in and come home last night, like everyone else not seeing any deer at camp  :(

Have a good day whatever's on tap. Safe travels to anyone on the road today. Good luck if you're hitting the woods. Stay safe.

12* here at the house, that means it is in single digits up in the woods, where I am not. May go out later this morning. If we get the amount of snow they say, I may be done hunting for the year.

Eddie, I didn't see any deer yesterday. Sat a little over 2 hours yesterday AM and almost 4 hours in the PM. I did hear 7/8 shots about 8:30, someone must have jumped a deer.

Have a good day....h2l

Good morning everyone

30 degrees with light snow still falling. It's very hard to say how much snow we ended up with just because of all the rain we received . Yesterday I scraped our slab twice and it was a bear each time with the super heavy crap. The girls kept saying it was excellent "ice cream making snow" but I never made any. Today will be final clean up this morning as the temps start dropping. It sounds like it will down to 7 by late afternoon, so all the snow not cleared will turn to an ice block.

The main highway heading into Duluth is closed this morning. Last I heard they had high winds and somewhere around 20" of snow. They didn't have the rain so they were blessed with the full amount. The city is made up of old streets with hill after hill, I can't imagine getting around up there.

Yesterday we took a ride to the spearing lake to have a peek. The snow and rain opened up some of the lakes but not this one, it may be a season to check out other lake options.

Eddie best of luck in the woods today, I hope a shooter comes ambling down the trail

IW safe travels to you

WW hope your guessers are wrong with your snow totals. Hope your kitchen details nets us all a few pictures

h2l best of luck if you head to the woods

Bud good going on the blower fix  The other day at my neighbors a lady brought in a snowblower that wouldn't start ??? Luck would have it, it was out of gas

I better gather my tools and head out the door. Hope you all have an excellent day  Stay safe.
