    LX-5 ----- Love it!
Easy fix for swing arm:  Get a swimming noodle w/ hole thru the center--- Cut to size & snug on cable w/ plastic ties.....Or do as I do: Drill extra hole.       Tight lines,   LL

LX-5 and Vex FL8 here, I prefer the lx-5 now, seems like a much cleaner picture of the weeds down below.  To go along with the above, you can also buy the vex float itself for around $4 - can't remember the site off the top of my head though.  I've got some pipe insulation I'm going to try, but I really just need to stop being lazy and drill that extra hole.

Not sure how you guys are having issues with the arm been using mine for 5 years now without a problem and in my hole I fish from. Set the unit so the cord lays against your hole and no problem, now the float is a huge issue always floating around on your hole. Guessing I have a few vex floats laying around due to taking them off when I owned them, what a PITA.

On my ultra pak I use the wire locks to keep the float close to the side of the hole. No tangles.

Fl18 and LX5 like both of them but have only had the chance to use the LX5 once. Another winter with too much snow on the ice.  :(
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

Vexilar FL12...not overly happy with it.  Seems like you have to turn the gain WAY up to see a jig once you get in 30+ FOW.  This is AFTER I sent it in to Vexilar to have it looked at.  The service note said "adjusted sensitivity all the way up"...don't think it's made much difference.  Anyone else with a FL12 notice this?
Could be a transducer problem!  ???
I have the Vex 22 with the Ultrapack.

LOL, ;D  It sure looks like I do, one of the FL-8's was my first and I liked the alarm feature so a few years back I bought another one off ebay, I really wish they would have kept the alarm feature on the newer models. And the Eagle ultra was my first finder and I just don't have the heart to sell it. Got the FL-20 a few years back and just got the FL-22 this year. I told my wife look now I have one for each of us, I have a son and daughter. LOL

I use that same line with my wife for guns. Funny how they accept it better when you mention it's for the kids. LOL
