Vex FL-8 and Aqua View VPG. Depnds on how I feel. Either way I go to the lake with 1 of them.

 I have a Bird-35, the large screen and large range of options makes this unit a real competitor for sure. I love it. I have owned a Vex Fl-8se and in my opinion it was a fantastic unit. I sold it so that I could purchase the Ice-35 (the 35 had zoom) I think I will be buying an X-67 or Fl-8se for a "second hole" flasher in the near future. Bottom line is, if you see your jib as a Green mark and it is 1.3 feet off the bottom then a big Red mark comes off the bottom and stops .3 feet below your jig but won't take, so you jig a little and the BAM! and you catch that fish your flasher has paid for itself.

Exactly what I did and I'm glad I did, it's was a good unit, for the little use it got last year.

 It is a great unit, I used mine about once or twice every week last ice season (Beginning of December right through to the end of March). The unit performed flawlessly in all weather conditions and I caught more fish because of it. Now that there is a Portable 343c with an optional ice transducer, I may be buying one in the near future. The 343c is the same type of unit as the X-67 ice machine. The 343c Portable looks like a top end scroll graph/flasher combo.

Interesting to see that the Vex FL8 , FL18 and the Marcum LX-5 garnered the largest percentage of users. I own a an FL18 that I bought recon from Vex .

I just picked up a FL-8se in July. I couldn't turn it down being on clearance at Dick's for $195 after tax. Bring on the ice so I can use it.
