Pulling sled for my YUKON
« on: Dec 31, 2010, 09:51 AM »
I love fishing from my flip over, but once the deeper snow arrives :'( It's pure hell pulling it
So for $16 of conduit and a welder, I created a "Pulling Miracle" ;D
And for the WARE FACTOR, I added a set of cross country ski's

And let me tell ya ;D, I can load this thing to the GILLS now and even with my three kids on it I can pull it with one hand.
Not much snow right now, but I did try pulling it through some deep snow from drifting and  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Gotta stay in shape somehow, unless someone wants to donate a 4x4 ;)
Pulls great so far haven't had any snow over 7" yet ;D

thats pretty cool  ;D ;D
what are the dimensions on that
been thinking of building a sled to run in deep snow
one big sled instead of three and that looks like it would do the trick
:) Ill be home soon.:)

I believe it ended up being 36' wide by 80" long and  12"-14" tall ;D
It makes all the difference in the world to pull

Bonecrusher,
Nice looking sled.  How did you mount the skis to the conduit?

Counter sink some flat head screws from the ski's up through the conduit. That way the ski's can be changed if needed ;D

Just added a auger rack and covered the front with angle to keep things from slidding off

That's a great looking set-up you've got going!
A bad day of fishing beats anything else I'd be doing today.....

I can imagine! If our "walking-on" season was longer up here, I'd build something similar to get everything up and our of the snow.
