Title: Hunting Perch 2020.
Post by: SLAYERFISH on Dec 23, 2019, 09:02 PM: Perch hunt 2020 season is officially underway. They came in streaks 5 in a row, then 7 in a row, another 5 in a row. 3 @12" 2@11", 2@10". 420 was the universal fish attractant! ;)

I only get out three or 4 times a year and don’t want to spend a lot of money. I do keep my fishing/ hunting equipment in top shape for use in years to come. Thanks!

Ive had my LX-5 for 7 years now. Got it for $475 back then. Don't know what to tell you.

i recommend a vexilar FL-8SE

300 bucks, battery lasts like 24 hours, tough as nails ( ive had it out in snow-storms and 30 mile per hour gusts where the snow , i'm sure, got all up into the battery compartment and stuff)

and easy AF to use!

You can go hummingbrid and get a little cheaper

OR

go super cheap and get one of those "Deeper" . buddy of mine uses one (bluetooths to your phone) and he does ok. its a flasher-liek disply but its a little laggy compared to real sonars

I got out yesterday for perch and it was a tough bite. Managed only 6 perch on small jigs with eyes,mousies and waxies. No bites on big stuff and meat. Did get 1 that was 12 1/2", second best perch of the year.... the only bright spot of the day.
Ice here is sketchy and so is the long range forecast.
Good luck on your jumbo perch hunt 2020 !

I'll chime in since nice perch are somewhat of a rarity around here, and I'm proud of the catch. This egg wagon smacked a Z Viber. It was only 11.5" but very girthy.

Had the same thing happen here in michigan a few times.... Love it! Works pretty good for deer too

Funny had 5 in the bucket get some 420 bait out or as I like to all it cover scent and 5 more in 10 minutes nothing for a whole so I take a nap and wake up half hour later and more cover scent 7 more. The 15 further away from me and 2 in my hands are mine the other mess of perch is my fishing partners I dont usually catch the most or the biggest but this day I left on top lol

I thought the 420 was what i was thinking it was. But it's been awhile since i've been out of it. Here in Utah it's illegal.
But being a damn good Perch Fisherman Im always looking to benefit my Perch Jerkin techniques. I can get stupid in other ways
