FREE PARKING!    Plenty of parking and the town plows it.

I fished Sunday midlake (walking) and found most of the lake to be pretty solid and free of slush.  However there is a giant slush area on the east side about a mile north of boat launch.  I think I can make it with the wheeler, but want to see if anyone encountered any other slush areas on the lake?  Would rather ask first, instead of getting buried half way down the lake.  Thanks. (I'm mostly looking for conditions leaving out of the state launch, as I accessed elsewhere.)

Was off burns with crazyeyevan yesterday, had the wheeler out to mid lake, he has chains on the tires which help, but theyve found several slush pockets and a couple hrs to get the wheeler out. Not optimal conditions, if your gonna try it make sure you have what it takes to get unstuck!! Sounds like the west side is a no go with snow piled up and drifted. Theyve been running from their spot off burns so that trail is ok not sure about the rest of the lake but I wouldnt..sleds have been getting around tho..

Thanks. That's interesting though because everywhere on the west side I found to be much harder / better than the east side I'm going to go for it hope I don't get stuck thanks again sounds like just stay down the middle of the lake where the snow has cleared from the wind and you should be good

Good luck, ya they tried cutting across to the west side weed beds and paid for it,  send him a pm he'll let ya know better, sounds like its been random spots but when theyre in it, its been a couple hr chore to free them. Ps he talked to a guy running the south end and said it was bad towards the west side weed bed like sled land only.

I chickened out and walked...and every tiring  step of the way I was cussing myself for not taking the wheeler, however if I were to take it and get stuck I would have been beat and pissed lol, what did I ever do before the wheeler?? Sure got spoiled having it!

was mid lake today set flags in 5-9 feet of water for bass and perch, had 6 flags all spinning when got there instant breakoffs when handeled line, sure it was toothy critters only had 4 lb tipit and small single hooks on ,be back this week with heavier setups catch some of those rockets for making patties before season closes next sunday! ( my best luck was minnows set 2-3 feet off bottom , flags within a foot of bottom not one trip )

how's the bite? it's about a 120 mile drive for me (round trip) to visit my dad and fish Honeoye - would it be worth it, to get one more shot in?
And how long do you think the ice will be good there?
Anyone can be a fisherman in May...E.H.
