Title: Need help

I'm by far a pro at catching perch but I catch my fair share of them. I miss more than I catch though. I always seem to attract them up and they hang at my jig for a bit and then go back down.

Today I caught 3 nice ones and then had a bunch that would chase my jig all the way to 3-4 foot off bottom but they wouldnt bite. 

 What am I doing wrong?

when you catch one that you want to keep take one of the eyes and put it on your jig

I didnt thinknof that todayh but have done that in the past with great success.

they get really competitive over those eyes lol and they can last for 10 fish or more
