Marmish Jigs
« on: Oct 17, 2010, 08:57 PM »
I'm thinking about getting a Marmish rod and it claims their jigs work best with the rod. I figure I'll pick some up when I order anyhow. Anyone have recommendations for the size and type if I'm mostly fishing for gills. I'll be fishing mostly clear water and 10 fow or less. Thanks.

Really any Jig will work well with the rod as long as its weight is appropriate for the bite indicator.  That said Marmish does make nice jigs.  Some of my favorites include the Apple Seed, Fly, Giant Ant, Fat Spider, Barley, and Beak.  A size 2 or 3 would be fine for most situations.  I use 2 most often for gills.  If you fish Crappies at all the Chort's work well too.  Another option is to look at Fiskas Wolfram as they make some nice jigs that would work well with this rod.  Good luck
