A Good Crappie Day With A Couple Good Fisherman!

Hit a pond today with Brock and Oliver. Both are good experienced fisherman! It was fun and a pleasure meeting them! THAT’S WHAT IT’S ABOUT! Was kind of a mini Meet and Greet. Good time! Got there at day break. Bite started off kinda slow. Things picked up to steady by mid morning. I’d say we all caught one 20 fish. Lots of little crappie, a few white perch, a couple yellows, a pickerel and a small mouth bass. Everybody took home plenty for a fish feed! These are the ones I brought home. like 10” to 14” ish. Nice chunky slabs!


Took this new rig out for a shake dow cruise today too. Oliver doesn’t have sonar, YET... hehehe  He used the new rig today. I think he liked it! I still have to get the Navionics chip for it. Seems like I will like it along with my RT-9. This pictures is right out of the box and turned on. It’s light, compact and very user friendly.

Great catch. I noticed you do not have an electric fillet knife . You need to get one .ive had one for several years and really enjoy using it .it so much easier and faster.

Yes, A good catch! Had a great time fishing with a couple well met guys!  I tried an electric once, felt like using a dull stick... haha I used to cut fish for a living when I owned a wholesale and retail seafood market We got thousands of pounds of  whole off the boat. I always cut for appearance and yield. Crappies cut out about like flounder depending on whether you keep the belly. roughly 33%.  I’m pretty handy with a good sharp knife! Much prettier results and better yield as well. [/size][/color]

It was a great day Joe! Thanks for the company! Always nice fishing beside well experienced fisherman and learning new tips and tricks! Every time i think I've got things figured out, I learn a new trick from someone that makes it even better!

Looks like a whole lot of fun too! Man I can’t wait to get on some perch, and hopefully some crappie this year too. My first trip out was for trout, resulted in a complete skunk, not even stolen bait.
