Might be exophthalmia, cant be certain though. May have been introduced to the pond by some diseased bait.

Thanks now I have to look up that word 😂 I just find it odd as I've fished this body of water alot and that's the first time seeing it

It affects salmon and trout...it's a parasite that attacks the tissue if I remember correctly

21.5” salmon from today. Variety in its belly including a water beetle that was still alive and was crawling across my cutting board! Creepy!
