I wish they would make a side imaging ff or flasher for the ice. Just drop it in the hole and see which direction the fish are and go!

A camera perhaps...

I always had an idea for early ice.  A wireless pneumatic or electric (maybe 12v like a flasher battery?) system of some sort that shoots two pins down into the ice from the rear of your sled when the "remote sensor" pined to your stomach area gets submerged in water.  The pins would anchor the sled behind you so you could pull yourself out of the hole.

Would work great if they would be able to handle the cold conditions.  Tried my 798csi but didn't like the cold.
A camera perhaps...

Ah, wunnerful.

Next:
     It doesn't work.

Au Contraire, Special, it may not have worked for you very well, but the Forstner bit does make a 3" hole in ice and if used as Tomo stated, with the 'ducer flush with the bottom of said hole, entanglement seems an impossibility.
Here is his post/question :
I would Like to see someone make a 3" auger bit for a drill.  I get sick and tired of my line getting tangled in my transducer.  If you were to drill right next to your 6 8 or 10" hole and put your transducer down it right at the bottom of the ice you would not get tangled up.

So, Special, can you clarify what doesn't work.  Thanks and good luck this season.     ;)2

A transducer that we didn't have to put in the hole.  If the flasher could read through the ice it would be a lot easier than always pulling the transduce when u catch a fish.    Mark

Something to chamfer the bottom of your hole so your fish can turn into and up the hole easier. Plus if your using multiple hooks on a line they don't get caught at the bottom of the hole when trying to bring up a fish.

A fluorocarbon leader material, completely invisible, easily knotted, non-stretch, and indestructible. Unknickable, uncuttable (to fish).

How about a "tractor beam" for when those red lines will not bite! When a fish comes in and stares at your jig, the beam pulls the fish on to your jig!

I know, wishful thinking!!!

Why not just drill another hole with your regular auger for your transducer? ???
I try to put my hole towards the edge of my shack. A bigger hole would be under the edge of the shack.  Also they need a mini auger not a hole saw!

I'd like to invent the "fishing buddy." He drags all your gear, drills your holes, sets everything up, keeps your beer thawed, and cleans all the fish. Is that to much to ask Clam or Frabill?

And Millwaukee came out with a heated jacket. Why didn't clam or frabill think of that? Or at least try to offer something like that?

Many such jackets already on the market.....Google heated motorcycle jacket.  My wife bought me a heated vest for Christmas and after messing around in the garage on my Polaris rzr all day yesterday, it works very well.

I'd like to see a portable shanty that folds into a compact case you can fit in your pocket...like George Jetson's car.

plans for a smitty sled that raises the shanty up high enough to be able to slide it into the back of a van or truck loaded and to to unload it to go fishing and then lower it to keep it low to the ground so its not top heavy

Tipups that send a signal to your phone when you get a flag

those are made. they are blue tooth. forgot the name of them. blue blitz  or some thing or another. was just on this site last day or so

Already invented those... they call them kids 😁

I Wish they'd make a ice pole in which the handle would contain batteries and it would heat the eyelet's when needed with a switch. This would be so nice...
