Please tell me its not a sabiki rig... ;D :o ::) ::) :-\ :-\ Those things are just a giant cluster F!

I'm a fan of just a single small tear drop using two rods if the smelt are there thats all I can handle.

I like the Sabiki's, just something about pulling 3 or 4 smelt out of a hole at once that just seems more effective. I cut mine in half to only use 3 hooks and a weighted jig on the bottom. That seems to cut down on the tangles quite a bit. For open water I use a heavier swedish pimple with the single hook (not the treble) and also put a single pretied hook(like an eagle claw or whatever) the on the split ring. Makes for a simple 6" dropper.

I am in the final stages of building my "Quick Strike Speedy Reel" that I will be using for smelting this year and it should handle the Sabiki and other multi-hook systems w/o a problem... I will post pics when completed.

I like the sabiki rigs too, they can become a HUGE mess if you dont watch em carefully, and normally as the night progresses you get less and less concious about where that rig is at..... ;D

I cant remember where i saw it at...but it was pretty slick......it uses a plasitc tubes as main bodyto keep it all in a line, and some wire to keep it out away from the body. I'll keep looking but just giving some other ideas...

I think even if you rigged something up like a smaller perch/crappie rig with the wires to hold the line out and keep it away from the body would work also... Kinda sounds like what you're talking about holly.

Is iceman 29 the same iceman that I know?? mud's boyfriend? Just curious, thought that i seen two iceman names pop up this year, if someone stole the iceman name they need to change it!!!!!!!  Him and Robby stacked the silver minnows up last year at Gull, i tried stealing his spot in the shanty, Robby didnt mind, but ice was having NOTHING to do with it.

Two silver swedish  pimples with white glow tape and one small tear drop white and pink glow. Tied 8" apart tipped with spikes.
I have two fishing buddy's that know all my secrets. But they wont tell all they do is wag there tails.
