We’ve been fishing for two straight days and it’s very slow!  Got a few at Serenity but nothing at the hump.  Not seeing many on the camera!

Supposed to be going to Tobin for the first time ice fishing in a couple of weeks. Anyone been out there lately with any reports?

I am also interested, have heard that things are picking up. Wondering how the fishing has been on the flats and what access is like. Heading up there in a week and trying to decide where to go.

Talked to guy at Nipawin booth at Sports and Leisure show on the weekend.  He said you'd better bring a sled or you're gonna have a fun time getting around now.

They got smashed with snow the last 2 days again, my buddy out there sent me a pic of the highway this morning. Looked really bad, looked like they got at least another 12 inches overnight last night

This was the highway this morning near the resort

We were out there on the weekend.  Didn’t get any pike of size on the flats.  Pretty quiet.

Wondering about access at the flats, is it snowed in or has it been ploughed?

Will not get cleared anymore unless someone other than TLR does it. To many people squatting 10 feet from their rental shacks. Be good don’t need that easy access out there.

Can't blame them one bit I'd do the exact same thing. If people can't use common sense and common courtesy then nobody can help them. Too many people abuse things and I guess this is the reprecutions of people being completely inconsiderate....

Was up this weekend, lots of snow. Fishing was slow all weekend except for about two hours before dark on Saturday when it was very good. One 21lb and a few mid-teens were the biggest.

I've seen so many fish mishandled out there it's sad. Guys don't bring tools to the hole with them, catch the fish and leave it on the ice. After they leave it on the ice for a bit they walk back to get pliers, slowly come back and start working on getting hooks out with the fish still out of the water. Then after a minute or two of trying to get hooks out, they take a few pics. Then after that they try weigh the fish. By this time the fish has been out of the water and in sub zero temps for at least 5 mins. I'm no biologist but I'd bet a paycheque that fish won't survive an hour after being released. Very few guys from what Ive seen, bring all their hook removal tools to the hole with them, work on the fish while it's still in the water and get a camera ready while the fish is still in the water. Get it all ready, pull the fish out for 10 seconds for a couple pics and maybe a quick length measurement and back in the water. I'd guess 50% of the pics I see the fish have frozen eyes already in the photo. None of those fish will survive....

You nailed it. Too many anglers with no clue on handling a fish to live release. Fish safe

You forgot about rolling it in the snow first before the picture.  Have your gear ready in a bucket to grab while running to the hole. Its pretty easy.  Just because the fish kicks once with its head down the hole doesn't mean it was a live release.  The regulations are decent there ( when followed )  but fish handling is beyond sh*tty.    Its amazing there are any left at all in there.

Talked to a buddy who was just there. Said up to a foot of floodwater on the lake right now. Sounds nasty out there
