Last I heard...upper upper was OK, but sketchy. Middle and Lower were barely frozen...

Thats why we moved the Perch Assault to Smith lake this weekend...
If I\'m not fishing, I\'m probably thinking about fishing...And if I\'m thinking about fishing, I\'m probably not getting much else done so, I might as well go fishing...Yeah, I just said that!

I talked to Chuancey (I know i murdered his name lol) last night at Snappys. He said lower was ok but but middle and upper where still scetchy. Guess ill wait till I get back in two weeks to chase muskys on Horseshoe. Hopefully things firm up by then.

2 people on Loon today, 2 on Middle Thompson west of the state park close to shore- likely 'bow fishing,
and 2 huts on the west end of Lower by the channel.
The middle of Middle T looked a bit thin yet for my taste
Get bit!

Are there smallies in Horseshoe?  Just curious.  We camp up there a lot in the summer and I spent an evening fly fishing it for smallies and didn't move any fish and I was a bit surprised.  Just curious what's in there besides muskie.

The Smallmouth, I believe, are stocked in the Horseshoe Lake near Ferndale. There are nice smallies in Loon of the Thompson Chain though. Must get out that way later this week for a little scouting/fishing. Will let you know what I find.

i know quite a few folks that fish that area, the pike are pretty thick in loon these last couple years, horseshoe can be tricky and i only know a couple people that fish it, but i know of a couple decent muskies that were caught there in august!

Greg, give me a shout if you want company...I heard Middle T is iced up, not sure how good, cold can't hurt!

Hey Mike,

Might do that. Usually end up going by myself as most guys I know have "real jobs".  I am kind of up to my neck in it building rods right now and might just need a break for an afternoon or so.
