Hey- Ive been spearing for a long time, and a spear is a spear.  Weighted ones fly nicer through the water, but the others are cheaper.  I use a seven tine weighted, and ive had no problem.

I would buy a seven tine head and attach it to a steel rod for weight.

HAVE A 5 TINE ULTRALITE AND A 7 TINE WEIGHTED ONE. WEIGHTED SPEARS WORK BEST.
