Big buddy pilot gas pressure/flow issue advice?
« on: Jan 05, 2009, 08:36 AM »
I’m having trouble with my Big Buddy heater.  The pilot light won’t remain lit.  The flame burns on the end of the flow (to the left), not down to the base of the pilot burner.  If I impede the flow of gas by placing something in the burner, such as a small nail, it runs fine.  Does anyone know how do I adjust the flow or pressure of the gas feeding the pilot light?  I haven't had a chance to bring it in and see if I can take it apart, but I'd sure like to have a game plan before doing so.

Thanks!

Is this an older unit? Check and make sure the tube is clear. If your heater sat around, perhaps a spider or something made a web in the tube. It is just as important that you have air as it is to have propane. Use an air compressor to blow out the tube then try it.
