Lake Champlain
« on: Sep 28, 2009, 06:36 PM »
Myself, brother and some friends are looking to make a trip to Champlain this winter for some Pike action. We've decided to fish on the norther part of Champlain. Probably near the Swanton Bay area or North Hero. Most likely staying for 3 night and 4 days and looking to rent a shanty. Was just wondering if anyone from this site might have some feedback or suggestions for Champlain or location. Much appreciated with any input. sorry if it seems like I'm trying to rush the hard water action but I'm not. Just would like to get plans rolling because It'll be upon us before we know it!

Martins General Store in Swanton rents shantys. 802 868 4459  Ask to speak to Gilbert. Missisquoi Bay is a good area for northerns. I have fished there, and done pretty well.

Holiday Harbor on north hero island.
They rent shantys and you can stay right there in the motel.
Thinking about bringing my son there this season.
Good luck.

We usually rent a house that sleeps 12-16 right on the water for a long weekend. This year we will do the same and another trip with my family or my son and a friend.
Great place!
