I went out at Hog Island again yesterday and had another beautiful day despite the ruckus from the snow geese. I've got a fridge full of perch and have supplied all my relatives with meals of them so was focused on pike but she's out of heavy shiners at the store and so had to use mediums. Got a huge perch on my first tip up even before I could set up the second and it was that way all day. The bite was steady until noon when I hooked a pike on my jig stick right in the middle of a flurry of perch, the perch didn't even stop or slow down, the pike just budged right in there, grabbed my little tiny minnow, flew up out of the hole without a fight and into my lap nearly knocking me off my pail! They stopped biting around 2:30. Still a good foot of ice but it is very soft and easy to drill. Several ATVs and about a half dozen other fishermen nearby.
