How early did you get on the ice last year? Do you think you'll be on earlier or later this year?

Was standing on 3" of ice Nov 30 last year. If it doesn't get colder, it'll probably be later this year. :(

Just about the same as everyone else - Nov. 30 in Eel Bay on Wellesley Island.

Looks like some additional cold building early next week, but long range models have temps "normalizing" (35-45F) once we get past the 10 day forecast so I'd guess that we're probably going to be looking at mid/late December this year (We're typically fishing between Christmas and New Years's Day)

The long-range winter forecast calls for a series of cold outbreaks throughout the winter with periods of moderation and an early end of winter in March.  All long-range forecasts are subject to change so your mileage may vary.

We fished Dec 14 and 15 last year. We checked 3 lakes before we finally found one with 3.5 inches.  It warmed up after that and I did not get back on the ice until January.   Hard to tell this year.

Walked on ice by Thanksgiving, hoping to do the same this year with the weather we have but... we're gonna have 3 days of 40-45 degree weather with some rain, so that's probably not gonna happen again.  :'(
