Auger bit attachment
« on: Nov 27, 2005, 09:59 AM »
Has anyone used a bit attachment that attaches to the bottom of the bit on top of the blades on a power auger somehow? It is supposed to open up once the bit drills through the ice and you spin the bit with the throttle. While spinning the bit with the throttle you lift on the auger and the "attachment" is suppost to taper the bottom side of your hole to allow the fish to enter the hole easier. Now about two years ago a friend had something that sounds like it was the same thing but it didn't work for him the d%^*@# thing bent and jammed his auger in the hole and he had chisel/dismantel the THING in the hole inside of a shack. So I am wondering if the one my friend seen recently is the same or a new or greatly improved version of the one I was told the story of.
