well the ice season has ended. i had a good year. got out with my dad a few times and fished with 1 other friend a few times but was alone most of my trips. heres some pics from the season:

I'm heading up north, maybe to Schroon since most everything down there is questionable. Topher, there is the NY Gathering on south bay, Lake Champlain Sunday the 26th if you and the HoleHawg are interested. That has a limit of 15 tips and 3 hand lines. It is an hour and twenty minutes North from Albany / Schenectady. Last report was a foot of ice.

Last report I had from guy's at the hunting camp was on Monday there was 4 1/2 5 to with open water on most Sullivan county lakes but wait for the report from John on Friday

HEY SHAWN REPORT IS IN: NO SAFE ICE!!! WAS ON 4 INCHES 2 DAYS AGO AND HAD TO GET OFF BECAUSE IT WAS CRACKING UNDER FOOT ON EVERY STEP.

Also, last weekend before 15th March season end. Dead sea three day tourney. half an hour from my house.... Good Lord willing.... Should still have ice.

I fished Superior on sun. & the ice was maybe 6 inches thick where I was...
The shore was a little soft ...

i was watching the ice in the center of the lake crack with almost every step by 10:30 tuesday morning. you know i will go on 2 inches solid ice, well i got off by 12:30. around shore there was more ice, 5-6 inches. but that ice, as well as the ice on the center of the lake is VERY soft ice with alot of air pockets. if all you rich city folk think this dumb redneck dont know what the hell im talking about then go swimming....

Been swimming once......don't care to repeat it!!! You know I'll be careful....going to check the ice tomorrow by drilling holes out to where I expect to fish....6" of ice or I DON'T GO !!!

Just spoke with IceBalls...they are going to try Superior, as they drilled and found 5" not too far out at the launch....He is going to call me again tomorrow evening to let me know what else they find...

moon-dog i told them but them seem to think they are wieghtless or something. really disgusted me from this site. people are here trying to make sure everyong has a safe season, but they dont want to listen. thats cool tho, more food for the fishies....
