Hit Alsop for a whopping 40 minutes of fishing but I got two and lost one. Both fish about the same 20" size...

Speaking of LPL's . . . just curious what order yous guys would put the lakes in preference order.
Which one would you go to first? . . . second? . . . etc?

Depends on what I wanted to find... If big fish were the only target it would be Hattie, Alsop, Gellat, then Leazenby! For #s of fish Leazenby, Sodagreen, Alsop,

I hope so!  Was out at Leazenby last night and it was brutal!  My new ice hut worked well though.  Sadly...we got skunked - no bites at all for two hours of fishing.

Yeah the ice is good, an open patch on the South end under the footbridge.

I lost my a glove so had to walk across the whole thing.  Surprisingly - found my glove at the other end.  My friend forgot to put my auger cover in his pocket - so as I was looking for my glove on the East end of the lake, my auger cover came blowing over.  I went over to it - and there was my glove as well.

You guys are making me want to head back over to laramie just to get on the ice! I didn't do a darn on those lakes last year. Sodergreen all I caught were stockers so this is making me excited for next year when I'm BACK!

I'm heading out to alsop for some night fishing. I repaired my hut today so I'm going here in just a few minutes. I'll report back later, curious how I do. Anyway I'll be in a black and green hut if anyone wants to join me.

no moose but i was just using small maribou jigs....not really the best bait for suckers if that's what you're targeting (don't know why LOL). All i caught were stockers all of last winter at any lake i went to. Heard the plains lakes were supposed to have big fish, went to sodergreen caught nothing but about 8 12" fish...went to North Crow figuring i'd change pace and hopefully catch a greyling...caught nothing but about 25 12" bows and one cutthroat that was the biggest of the day by about a half an inch.

Just got back from Alsop, beautiful evening but all the fish went to sleep on me. I sat up my hut a ways out from the boat ramp, lit my lantern and watched my camera. I used two poles, jigging one non stop, I tried jigs, glow spoons, big shiny spoons, yet not even one fish came to look. I really think that rainbows don't feed at night unless they can really smell some real bait, which would be illegal there. I have never went to Alsop without seeing a fish on my camera until tonight, pretty sure I won't waste any more of my time unless a lake has browns or lakers. I'll probably do Granite or Crow sometime at night and see if the response is different.

I grew up night fishing for cats in my homestate but this was my first dedicated night ice trip. I fished for a solid two hours, so at least now I feel like I have at least given it a try. One time at Granite I was on some bows and it got dark, I caught maybe one more but it definitely slowed down and I was cold so I left shortly after. I hope to do it again though with my hut.

It was nice meeting up with you guys yesterday!!  Despite the lack of fish (except for Taz! nice fish man, ill email those photos tonight) it was great to get out onto the ice, and to hang with a bunch of other Wy Iceshanty members!!  Hoping to get back out there tues if this crappy weather doesnt ruin the ice (and if my wife doesnt give birth to our new son between now and then...due 12/13)  Cheers.

No need to pull a taz and show up with fish in the trunk to your kid's birth ::)

Yes I was late to the hospital when the oldest was born I showed up with a 30# king salmon in the trunk for my dad to go take care of :pinch: :-[ But still made the birth...

Well there is one rod lost to Alsop!  Fish yanked a friends rod right down the hole today.  Seams like fish out there are getting pretty finicky.  Ice is really going down hill as well.  I bet its lost 2" and whats there is getting weaker by the day.  Lots of puddles on top today.

Hit Leazenby for about 45 minutes today.  Caught one 17" and had another bump.  Does not seem to be full of the stockers like last year.  Ice is good and solid on the north end.  We will be out there early early tomorrow.

It was a bow.  There other one that came in was also a bow.  I only caught one brookie thru the ice out there last year.  Love catch those chunk brookies!! ;D

I bet there are some big ones out there, I got 3-4 in the 15-16 inch range there last year all in the same spot. Haven't had a chance to get out to Leazenby yet but I bet I can repeat and they will be bigger this year. If I get a 20" brook it's going on the wall.

It surprises me that Leazenby grows some big trout. it has got to be the shallowest pond i fish by far.
