The last I heard Meebor had 3 inches of ice. Hattie has to be close to being fishable. Has any one heard if Hatti is safe ???

Was over at Hattie 2 days ago. It was all opened up and no ice. Full of water kind of like the old days. One big lake not two.
Take a kid fishing, they make great pack mules.
Put the big ones back for another day eat the small ones.

Hattie is all but open the wind and warm weather has put us back to square one. Even sodergreen has opened back up. Meebor is still fishable but slow to say the least, Gellatt also. Owen is fishing well but you better have four chains on and a beefy tire to make in there.

I went out to Gelatt today and there was 5 inches of ice, seemed pretty consistent everywhere I drilled. Also I drove out to Twin Buttes and it was about 75% capped. Took my dog with me today, I fished for about 2 hours and only saw one rainbow on my camera, reminded me of why I don't care for these lakes.

Fishing is usually slow on the Plains Lakes, but you never catch a small one.  which is worth it in my book

I'll never forget the first time I ice fished hattie, I caught a 12 inch rainbow and my buddy goes "that's the smallest trout I've ever seen out of here"
I do like ice fishing hattie because of the variety of fish but I don't care for the others.

At the end of last season I went out early in the morning and got on a school of perch then at about 9am a 22 inch rainbow came by and hammered my other rod with sucker meat. I was very happy to catch this fish but the perch never came back in any kind of numbers. Now that the lake is up this should change a bit.

I went out to Hattie today and there's probably 3 inches in most spots, a little thin in others. Also went by twin buttes, which is completely capped, and Meeboer and Gelatte both had holes in em where there were fishermen earlier today. Probably 4 to 5 inches on Gelatte and probably 4 on Meeboer.

I left a bunch of holes on gelatt yesterday, and gloomis, I've never got a laker outta there, never seen one either but I've only lived in Wyoming for 7 years and this is my fourth ice season.

WY G&F use to stock brood lakers from the hatchery in Saratoga in the early-mid 90's.  They would run about 28" and 8 lbs or so, kind cool, but not really since they'd been in tanks their whole lives.  I have no clue if they still stock some of them or not.

Fried eggs, hash browns, and a cup of joe.

Got out and fought the weather and wind for about an hour this morning on Leazenby. I got 2 and my cousin lost 2. But feels good to get the first hard water fish of the year.

only a 13" and 14" bows but fun all the same.
