3 guys out at the shanty now, and thy have a 18" eye on the ice already(7:15) I think our spot is going to produce

UPDATE @ 8:45

guys said the lake has locked up nicely, pressure ridges where we are are tight and passable now. spots that had 4-5" are now pushing 6". looks like we will gain a few more inches by the challenge for sure with the cold coming early next week.

FISH ON! TIGHT LINES EVERYONE.

Cant wait to go!! Two yrs ago the day before hurt my back last year ate from a neplace at work hugged the toilet for two days. This year yesterday i woke up to some little ------ drilled peoples gas tanks in the night phone call from my sherriff friend. went out to check my truck and theres 26 gallons of gas in my driveway, with 3 3/8 in holes in my gas tank. And of course tank is back ordered for four to 6 days. I cant win!!!! :(  so if you see a guy pulling his sled down rt 29 pick me up lol.

here's the pic. don't think the lake has that much snow on it. just my opinion.the background doesn't seem to go with the background of the res. no camps/houses in there. again just my opinion

I don't disagree there, its a heck of a fish. the res is very capable of producing a fish of this size, but I don't think this one came from there.

Just to let everyone know there is a post on the fuel n food facebook page and the challenge is on. Louie was out yesterday and found at least 7 inches in pretty much all areas and with the cold coming in we should be good. There are still some bad spots, the narrow channel between scout island and shore on the Mayfield side was open water yesterday so still use caution.

Just got back from a drive along the west side of the lake and the ice is now littered with shacks.  All shacks that were sitting on shore last week waiting are now on the ice.  Counted  14 from lakeside dr, atleast 15 from the lanzis shore and another 10 or so from North Hampton.  Not including the ones i could see in the distance over by fishouse and broadalbin

We took our shanty from Dave's bait and tackle this afternoon and pulled it out. We were measuring 9in. We will be pulling some of his other shanty's out Thursday.

there is a dusting of snow. We seen several snowmobiles out yesterday. it was a little slippery out there needed ice creepers. We had our 4 wheeler with chains on to pull our shanty out.
