White Birch Pond, Partridge Run, Albany County
« on: Mar 08, 2014, 11:13 PM »
Wife and I fished an old stand -by today, White Birch Pond. By the looks of the beaten path to the ice it has been hit hard. Wife caught 13 inch Bass and 17 and 18 inch pickerel. We caught total of 12 fish rest were all under sized pickerel. Too bad, for years we went there and went through 4 dozen minnows.

Yes we have had worse days. We fished off north shore just below the old camp. Could see where there had been a lot of holes drilled. We used to make this our New Years day trip, not much of a trip only 1/2 hour from home, but with weather the last few years we have been fishing the Vlaie in Franklinton as our first ice.

Have only ice fished White Birch and Fawn Lake with any success. Fished two on Beaver Road years ago with no luck, too shallow at the time. One of the pond we looked in the hole and saw minnows swimming by! Have fished a couple other opwn water.

The big problem Iv'e noticed with the patridge run ponds is that people that don't know any better come on here and talk about how awesome the fishing is in those tiny, already very popular ponds.

Hope that comment was not directed to me. But I do agree, it is over fished and as I stated above it was better in the past.

Some of my best memories as a kid were at p-run. Haven't been there in years. Summer and fall only.
This house is protected by the good Lord and a gun
