Just want to chime in. I just upgraded to the 62 for deep water fishing. Really impress so far. Used a number 5 jigging rap and can see the jig all the way at the bottom at 150 fow. Not moving the jig, it still shows up bold next to bottom. My experience from the 32 and 34 model, once it starts reaching its max depth, the only way you can get your lure to show up is by jigging it and even then it will only show up flickering on and off as you jig and disappears if you hold it still. Now the real challenge will be trying different size and weight lures to see at 200 fow once I have more walkable ice. If you are curious as to what other lures can be seen at what depth with the 62, let me know and I can try to test it out
Thanks for chiming in Under the Ice. I looked up the length of a #5 jigging rap 2". That's great if you're seeing that well (little flickering) at 150 fow. Crappie jigs are the smallest I go or a sebile Vibrato 1.5" 1/8oz lure. And generally less than 80fow. The XR pretty expensive, 34 less so. Hopefully a laker angler with a 34 describes their experience. I've also read good things about the PS30 transducer mainly great depth abilities, a wide cone 120x90, and because target returns are exaggerated its easier to readon a 10" screen from a distance. Oh ya the PS30 doesn't require the gls10 processor, so that's cheaper, lighter and less battery needed. I'm looking for a used ps30 but also waiting for a good 34 review on deep laker fishing.
