Title: Ice Rods for Walleye
Post by: DrCro on Oct 22, 2019, 06:15 PM: Curious guys, my ice fishing budget is up higher this year, would like to pick up a couple of new rods. What is the best rods for ice fishing walleye light medium, fast action medium, medium, ultra light? I want to know who uses what for walleye..

Might be better off with a medium in other states ware walleye is smaller? A big 30 incher you don't want to break the rod if avarge is smaller then ours at 18 to 20 inches then a medium maybe the way to go..

Post by: Iceassin on Oct 22, 2019, 07:02 PM: 36" Schooley Arctic Ice fiberglass. Labeled light but fishes more like a medium. I work everything from 1/4 oz. Rip n Raps to 1/2 oz. Swedish pimples. Usually run one as a dead stick.

Actually you should call them and ask for an Ice Hopper built on their new walleye special blank- it's probably the best bang for the buck walleye rod out

Walleye special is the blank I built for one of my walleye rods. I like it better than some of the other blanks I have used.

You can’t go wrong with that one! The 34” is plenty versatile inside a shelter or out.
I just love mine! I have a buddy on their pro staff. Great products. Good luck with it
