It's a sad day!!!!
« on: Mar 26, 2007, 08:14 AM »
:'( :'( I put the gear in the basement today. All of it. The shanty, the poles, the auger, the tip ups, the vex, the scoopers. It's over for me until next season.

It may be a sad day, but it is the first day of the rest of your life! Many more seasons where this one came from with a little luck!

Keep the auger sharp and line fresh, next season may be here sooner than you expect!

I'm still hopin', but it ain't looking good. May have to take a trip to the Adirondacks. It ain't over 'til it's over.

I have been hunting or fishing almost everyday of my life. The rest have been wasted.

it's pretty much done for me too. Put every thing in the basement and getting ready to put it away. Just have to get the poles ready for the open water.

I still have 5 days and a bunch of bait left to drown. Still had 18" Sunday, hopefully it will hold up. The rain today didn't help.

Decided to hang it up after this past weekend.  It was 80 degrees here yesterday an can only imagine that we lost a lot of ice.  Looked at the extended forecast and it said it was suppose to be in the 40's during the day and 20's to lower teens during the night for the next 15 days.  Maybe it's time to reconsider :cookoo: :cookoo: Just think, ice fishing in the morning and golf in the afternoon.

We got screwed, only the brave are still out in Minnesota. :'(

The ice is 3 feet thick, but the sun has it melted away from the shore so badly. We could plank it but that would only buy us another week. We always have safe ice into April here, but a shot of 80 DEGREE SUNSHINE yesterday didn't help our cause. **censored** ???

Went for the last time today! Had to put the waders on to get to the good ice.  Heavy rain destroyed the shoreline ice but main lake still had a good 20+".  Lost a big whitefish today! Disappointing but conditions were very comfortable.  Not a sole out there except me! See u all next year! Good luck with the open water people!

Still got a few days left here.  Headed out for whats probably gonna be the last day tomorrow. :(  But then again, maybe I'll get out friday too. >:D  Saturday it's time to get the boat ready for open water. ;D  Ice fishing might be just about over, but open water fishing is right around the corner. 8)
