My biggest gill through the ice this year was 10 3/8, had I done the fishing regulation method by folding and compressing the tail, it would have hit 10.5, what a brute to pull up from 20 feet down on a 19 inch noodle rod. I don't care what anybody says, but a 10 inch gill fights better than a 14 inch green carp (LM bass).
Two days later fishing buddy got one 10.25 at the same place.
