Where to go for a fishing trip?

Planning a 4 day trip to either VT, NH, or ME in the fall. I have a 16ft bass tracker with a 40hp.
Anyone recommend any places to go? Places to fish?
getting some open water fishing in before the real season starts.

It might not be the type of fishing you're looking for (since you mention a boat), but I have fond memories from 40 years ago of both the Ammonoosuc and Wild Ammonoosuc Rivers in NW NH (although we'd generally go toward the end of May/start ofJune).
