There’s a substantial amount of slush in some spots out there, just watch for them if you’re bringing a wheeler.

Thought I'd give everyone an update on the lake conditions.
Snow amount varies across the lake but there appears to be more around the islands from the drifts.  Anywhere from 4 - 8 inches of snow with a few inches of slush underneath.  Still wheeler accessible with 4x4.

Good luck out there!

Does anyone know if the GSLFF ice fishing tournament still on for this weekend?

The only tourney that still MAY take place is the Fuel & Food, 3 day, the first weekend of March. The others were cancelled a while ago. I am a member of the GSLFF. Covid did us in and also the Walleye Challenge.

It looks like Fuel and Food recently updated their contest flyer so there is hope.

I've fished GSL one time but I am not familiar with the lake at all. I know its a great lake for pike, I was looking for any information on a good place to go that has public access. Anyone with any info that wants to share or PM I would really appreciate it! Thank you.

Any vehicles out there?  Trying to plan for the derby would rather not haul a machine up there if I don’t have to.

I have not seen one NUT on the ice this year, but I haven't been all around the lake. Ice has been iffy for trucks, the top has been ever worst. With the warmer temps it is not going to get much better. Just my .02. Years ago it was much different....h2l

I definitely wouldn’t attempt driving a vehicle out, there may be enough ice,but the slush is brutal

We fished the boat launch this evening, the slush tightened up from the day I took the pictures, you should be alright with a wheeler,my buddy did fine. They were driving trucks out next to us.

Can someone please give me a report on the slush, near Deer Island, on the bay / shore side? How deep is it?
Thanks much!

I went out yesterday for an all nighter and came off today in the rain. It was miserable yesterday in a lot of spots. Last night it buttoned up but after the rain today it got worse again coming off. I drove from the boat launch to Scout and back to the boat launch. Its getting nasty out there fellas. Snowmobiles will work, but ATVs even with chains make for an anxiety filled event. Not trying to deter anyone from going out just letting ya know.
