Anyone been out by fish house, looking to try some new spots rather than the south end.

Thanks

Check DEC website for contour map of the lake. It will show you public boat launches as well. Look over the map and then use the closest boat launch to get there. Good luck

Water level this morning is 751.75, but it looks like they have it down to their target level as it hasn't dropped in a day...h2l

Compared to the depth of water in Navionics this past weekend.... the water was 10-12' lower than that number...

If Navionics said we were in 30' we were 15-20' give or take.

Hope that helps.

Lots of places to access southern part of lake scroll through this feed and you'll find them.

Learned that the hard way last year when I broke through the ice and right into a rock.  My auger still cut holes but the blades needed to be replaced.

I found the bottom with my auger almost a mile out 2 weeks ago where navionics showed 6-12' so yes! I'm hoping new blades fixed it and the shaft isnt bent ???

Lots and lots of shoals out there mid lake mile out doesn’t exactly equal deep water on all lakes I’m surprised you didn’t see a sandbar lump when you where standing over those depth ranges or a big heave most of it in that range is land right now if not all of it

In hindsight there was a heave that I attributed to shove ice but after looking at navionics in the shack I realized what I had done. We went out of wallys the next morning and it was easy to see how the water level was different from the year before!

Haven't been on the ice but I got about 5 inches just about Northville. I am sure the wind has moved some of it around as I can see some bare spots....h2l

I was out there last night, depending on how it drifted there’s about 4-8 inches.

Was out all day today on the south end of the lake. Had 8-12 inches of ice as far north as sand island. Bit I believe that there is that on most of the lake minus usual trouble spots. Managed 2 keeper walleyes, had a dozen flags or so. Slow cold day on the "dead sea"

Fished yesterday off the public boat launch a few miles north of Edinburg. 8-10”.  No flags. Fished from noon-4, set 3 rosies under the ice, couple hunts few feet off the bottom and one big sucker. Nice day though.

Wally's is plowed, they have alot of parking available.  If you arrive late and the lot is full they have additional parking down towards the docks.

I'd any there is around 8in of snow on the ice.  Four-wheelers can still get around with 4x4.  Couple inches on slush under the snow, more in spots.

It'll be a rough go for wheelers if we get another 4 inches.

Bite was slow out on the traps

Hey guys,
Just got a free house to stay at for next weekend up near edinburg marina.   I have a camp on the southern end but have never ice fished so far north.    Not looking for spots.   Just wanted to check make sure the ice is good for snowmobile (assuming its fine) and also how about crossing under the bridge.  I know I will not be travelling north past placid pines. I will have the kids with me and just want to make sure it's all good.  Any info will help thanks

We have been drilling roughly a foot right by the bridge, and it is in good shape to cross under it.

Thanks for the response.   Now I  just need to find some fish( walleye/pike) in uncharted waters.
