Tuscarora Lake Derby???
« on: Jan 31, 2019, 10:16 AM »
I'm looking to hit Tuscarora on Sat for the derby. Never fished it before. Looking for some info/tips. No secret spots, just tips. Where to register? Where to park/get on lake? Ice thickness? Thanks

Busy day on the ice, lots of shanties and lots of sledders hauling ass up and down the lake.  Probably not the best day for gunning it across the ice.

I think the top walleye weight was 4.75lbs and top perch length was just shy of 14".   Not sure why they shut the derby down at 4pm just as primetime is kicking in.

Heckuva nice day to be out on the ice though.

That's awesome to hear it was a good time, sounds like some good fish showed up considering the odd time-line they chose for the event. I've only fished it a few times despite living 30 minutes away, didn't do to well, but I chalk that up to not knowing the water well.
