new guy
« on: Jan 02, 2011, 03:20 PM »
Hello everyone, I am new to this forum but not new to fishing. I bass fish  all year long but when it comes to ice fishing I hate to admit it but I struggle. I see all the great photos and postings and would like to become a better hard water angler. last weekend I fished the tri lakes area and caught a lot of fish but only 10 keepers. Would anyone mind giving me any advice on where to try or what to use. I thought about going to dewart next weekend and putting in at the camp. Does anyone know much about that area. I will be more than happy to share any susses that I have along with the failures.

I fished Dewart twice last year with no success.....not a single fish!!  I know that some guys fish out from the boat launch, some near blueberry island, and even some in the bay by the trailor park.  There's some good fish in there but finding them is a different story!  Hopefully someone will chime in and offer you some advice for that lake.

It's just like any other place, either you know someone and get permission or your going for the long walk from the public launch!  That's one of the bad things with the public lakes in the area...limited access.

I fished Dewart one time last year and struck out, as Blue stated parking is the issue. It can be a LONG walk from the public ramp. Welcome to the site!!
