so it looks like Huddle bay froze last night. It hard to tell because the webcam is spastic, but it looks locked up... anything that is locked up now should have safe ice by monday morning...Unless the 15mph nw wind tears everything up tomorrow night...but I doubt it.

I was wrong...but looking at the forecast it wont be around long so be safe people.

From what I see on the web cam it looks like the million dollar beach area has locked up !! 
Please correct me if I'm wrong !!!

drove by MDB this morning and its locked up and so are a lot of the bays and as long as it can survive the wind tho negative temps will be making some ice for sure

its showing -19 temps Sunday night now thats cold keep your fingers crossed and will make it happen guys!

Drove by a few of the bays on the east side this morning. Looks like 7 or 8 shanties out on Katskill Bay (I think that's the one on the end of Ridge Rd). I don't know how one gets out there though. One truck at Harris Bay but I didn't see anyone. Snow on the ice so it froze before last night. Huddle Bay is frozen but it looks like fresh ice, probably last night.

5" to 8" of snow on Monday nite won't be a good thing tho. 
And the weeks forecast is not the greatest for ice making.

Finally.  Hopefully some laker fishing but at worst put some tasty perch in the freezer.  Of all days to be off the ice, I wish it wasn't today.  Getting texts of limits at 11 am sucks.

It was well worth the ride up today.  2 limits on perch in a couple hrs me and a good friend of mine new to ice fishing!!!!    Time to start filleting.

The big 1 there is 14" had limit in 2 hours

Here's what I saw for ice today:
South Basin skimmed over totally from MDB to about the Georgian then half frozen half open North to Tea Island.
Hearthstone looks to be frozen all the way across but not positive. Gate is closed. middle doesn't look good.
North of Diamond is open.
Dunhams Bay frozen out to just inside mouth of Bay.
Harris Bay-about half frozen
Warner/Kaatskill bay frozen out to Fishers Marina- sketchy but skimmed near Elisabeth island
Wide open main lake north of Diamond
Basin Bay about 1/3 frozen on south side.
Huddle bay frozen out past Leontine Island(the one with the house on it.) Bixby beach only about 75 yds out.
Sawmill all skimmed out past the point of Green Island-
Northwest Bay appears to be all skimmed over.
Sabbath Day Point north is wide open.

Bad news is there were 2-3 footers with whitecaps on open water today.
