how many poles in IL?
« on: Nov 24, 2011, 08:19 PM »
I have read the regulations and understand the 2 pole and line rule but I fish the miss backwater quite a bit, it isn't a 2 pole and line fishing only water it just says anglers must not use more than 2 poles and each pole can't have more than 2 hooks but in the summer I can run 50 hooks on a trotline or 50 bank poles as long as my name and address is on it so does that mean I can use up to 50 tip ups as long as my name and address is on them? not that I would run that many I am just confused on this and was wondering what everybody else thought. thanks

The Illinois fishing regulations states that a maximum of 3 poles or tip ups with no more than 2 hooks on each line. There are some sites that only allow 2 lines, but they should be posted.
