Late January catch
« on: Mar 19, 2007, 02:08 PM »
These are the first two fish caught this day on a private farm pond. Big one was 3 pounds 6.4 ounces.

Had to get the LX5 in that pic so here is a closer one.

Here what I caught them on. Its a Micro Tough Guy at 1/32 ounce (I think)
It was a 5 minute battle. Notice that the hook broke off just as I grabbed the fish behind the head to throw it out onto the ice. WHEW! That was a close one! Caught a lot more that day with a few nice Crappie on that jig. Well, not this particular one, but a replacement.

Heres one I had to post of a friend of mine. Lake Erie fish caught 3 miles out of Catawba.   9.5 pounds.

May ol man winter blow a cool breeze up your shorts!

those gitzits are great lures - i catch the livin' hell outta lake trout on 'em, but if you hook into a fish bigger than about 24 inches, you're screwed.  i think the hooks were made for panfish or something - very flimsy
