Checked yesterday, turned back about 40 yards from shore when I hit less the 3 inches but the ice was good clear ice

Well went out today. Was a solid 4-5” for about 100 yards. No bites no action. From what I could see there were maybe a dozen people fishing. Fished for 3 hours. Should be thicker next weekend. Fingers crossed lol

Almost the whole lake is pretty consistently flat and 11-13 feet.

9.5" at Valleyview on Sunday.  Lots of guys out and quite honestly I was surprised no Darwin candidates present.  Everyone walked, quadded or sledded on.

Same old, same old, a million perch, couple decent size ones.  Couple uninterested walleye swam by and eventually a very aggressive 8-9lbs pike took the bait.

Was on north side at end of road just before the Buffalo Vista lots on Sunday, just off the point and out about a third of the way across the lake .... maybe had a 6" average for ice thickness. Good ice but nowhere near 9". Also shocked no Darwin award candidates .... although there is always one within casting distance of open water at the Causeway.

we're talking about fish here, not a million bucks.

10.5" at Valleyview.  Not much ice growth lately with the recent weather but the ice is still good and strong.

Pretty much all I use on buffalo pound is a flasher, it works well also with most flashers you can zoom in the bottom half of the screen which is most of the water colum when you fishing buffalo. Moral of the story the flasher works well enough

Can you use a flasher on the Pound ... sure! Will it show if you have any interest below ... yes. But I would suggest a flasher works best on deeper water situations and due to the shallow profile and light penetration of BP a camera is ideal for BP.
In 10’ of water your sonar cone is showing a pretty small area. But when you’re in 15’-60’ you get two advantages ... bigger cone area and the ability to see the entire water profile ... many fish caught in 20’ of a 40’ spot that with a camera one would have missed.
But the answer is still yes!
Here is cone size per degree angle vs depth

Hey gang I hear that people are starting to drive onto the Pound.... I've seen posts and people are going on at loneys and are saying 14" last Sunday so it should be that much
thicker by this weekend. Has anyone heard of Valleyview or Parkview or any of the other common drive on spots. I'm just wondering if their going on yet in those areas?
TIA.
