I ordered my chains from www.canadianchains.ca and they have been great chains with excellent instructions and a video if you need it. I think the chains are good quality and durable. They have gotten me out of a few "pickles".

Ive been looking at tirechain.com, they seem to have cheap shipping and fair prices. Not many places sell chains locally for 35"+ tires so I think im going to try a set of the V-bar style from them.

Off topic. Sorry.  Spoxick, where are you fishing where you can catch fish through a hole in the ice in July and August?

I am taking this as month/year, not as year/year fishing season, but if you did and are finding hardwater in those months, let me know where so I can bring my auger out a little earlier!

If you can't find them locally, I'd definitely look online and buy V-BAR chains...I have a set for my little 2x4 Ranger and love them.  They just look mean, not like those sissy cable ones. :-)

Yep, you practically can - those v-bar ones I think are the best IMO (although I haven't tried the cable ones).  My 4x2 3.0 Ranger was able to haul about 300 lbs of oats to a bait pile going through 8-10" of powdered snow over frozen mole hills up a decent incline to get to where I was baiting deer this last December.

The spider bungee straps are definitely the way to go...You can buy them at  Cdn Tire also.

Any one know if they void tire warranties or damage rims?
My wife would not be happy if I scratched up the rims.
Could have used them once I got out of the ruts on the strap 2 weeks ago and spun to the ice.

P.S. There is a technique when installing them for minimal effort...Lay them over the top half of your back tires, and make sure you shove them 'under' the tire, because you are going to back up onto them.  Also, make sure you keep the clasp to the outside, because that is your method of hooking/unhooking them.

Oh yeah, and put them on BEFORE you need them...Waiting until you are actually stuck doesn't work very well - believe me!

Hi all,
Kal Tire has 3 different sets on their website.  They may not be in stock, but you could possibly order them either through the store or online.

Buy on-line! Here is a link to some chains. My uncle runs the V-bar singles and has never had a problem. Plus there is a v-bar welded in between the links to dig into snow and ice for the ultimate traction.
