Live Suckers, Dead salted Suckers, Cup bait, etc? What seems to work the best on tip ups for lakers?  ???
If you can keep your head while everyone around you is losing theirs; you may have misunderstood the situation.

I would personally stay away from the salted bait and use either live suckers, or dead fresh suckers split open and layed on bottom.  If there is a population of smelt in the lake I would fish larger ones the same way as suckers.
Its not a passion its an obsession
