Just got the drill from Amazon, no problem removing the screw but can't get the chuck off for the clam plate. Any ideas?

Give it a squirt of WD-40 where the screw came from, soft jaw the chuck and give it a sharp whop with the heal of your hand to loosen the chuck. ;)2

I've removed a few by inserting the largest allen wrench that will fit in chuck into the chuck. (insert the short side) Tighten the chuck and smack the long end of the allen wrench to loosen the chuck from the drill.

My Milwaukee drill had a stubborn chuck, hitting the Allen wrench with a hammer didn't work for me, but putting a length of metal pipe on the wrench and levering it to turn the chuck got it loose for me. Oh, I also had to go out and find the 3/8 inch Allen wrench to do this with.

Doesn't look good, the chuck has been "upgraded" and now needs additional tools from makita to remove it or don't use it with the clam plate. :(

False alarm, got it off and on the clam plate. Why didn't I remember "get a bigger hammer"? Took about 10 strikes and it came loose.

Glad you got it off but what "special tools" does Makita have available?

Hello.
Have you got an idea of the tool sold by Makita to remove the XPH07 chuck ? Regards.
