new to iceshanty.com & thought a few of you might like to know whats up with Chautauqua lake! i was on the ice just after x-mas & there was about 4 to 5 inches on the lower end of the lake! that was before that 3 day shot of warm rain & wind ,witch I'm sad to say broke the lake up! its iced over again & a few guys were back out on the ice today so i went to check it out! felt uneasy when i only drilled 2 1/2 ices of ice! i would say we still need some cold nights before it would be safe to go back out!
