Hey.I would like some advice on buying some foot gear.so I can have better traction.I've got some spikes that strap on to my boots but I'm wondering if chains would be better.
Thanks,

Doger,
I use the rubber pull over type.
You can get them almost anywhere now & they even have them large enough to fit over mickey mouse boots.
Ice soon?????

Dodger,
I am originally from the Lake MacBride area and I have went to using a boot chain that is made by Rudd Chain of Cedar Rapids. These things are awesome. You may want to try to call Fin & Feather in Cedar Rapids in a few weeks to see if they are available. Trust that they are great!

Does anyone have any idea were i can find some kind of traction devise for my boots. The problem that i have is I wear a size 15 ice king. This is a big boot even in smaller sizes, but my bigger problem is it is a WIDE boot. Any help would be great.

Do you have treds where you can screw traction spikes into? Might be an alternative if you only use them for ice fishing.
-
Yeah I thought about that, but I also use them for stand hunting deer on cold days.

Brother #3,
If you get the hex head screws, you can zip them out with a cordless screw driver when you need to use them for hunting. I'm assuming that hunting season is pretty much over when you start ice fishing, so you wouls only have to do it once or twice a year.

I wear size fifteen pac boots and use the KAKO SNOSHUZ shoe chains, xl size for size 11 and up.

i have used all types of traction control on my shoes for ice fishing, and nothing compares to corkers tungstun tipped spikes. these things are awesome. they are expensive, but i use them when i am wading too. The are great on wet rocks too.

I also ware Corkers! I think they are the best. They can be taken off when the snow covers the ice . I think they come in X.L. maybe even biger.

Where do you get Corkers at?
