I'm gonna swing by them(im assuming you mean little and big swartswood?) and a couple other places tomorrow am to check out the conditions. Upper Mohawk Lake(private) by my house was locked up this morning we should be good by middle of next week on the smaller places.

Hey I got a friend who lives in Stillwater and as of yesterday Swartzwood was open water.

hopfully it will be powdery so it will just blow off. it is suppose to be pretty cold, lets just hope for some nice powder.

took the dog for a walk down to Aeroflex and it was wide open as far as I could see each way from the Goodale Road entrance. might see about checking out both Swartswoods but I doubt it....might just go hit up the pequest with the fly rod.

Was out on the road yesterday and noticed lake hopatcong had most coves iced over. about 1" or less. good stuff man

checked the lakes and ponds by aeroflex today only one that will have safe ice soon is twin ponds in the first cove has about 2 inches where i checked.

Last saturday my lake that we fish was not froze over we went back on friday and we was fishing it yesterday in one week it froze up and has 7-8 inches of ice but we have had alot of -5 days

Lake Ocquittunk is solid went out today for the last hour of light got a few perch. Has about 3 or 3.5 inches perfect for the spud bar.

Will be checking a few areas tommorrow morning and then get out XMas Eve morning hopefully...will check Muscenetcong,Cranberry(by the park and ride side),State Park at Hopatcong and anywhere else we can think of.

KK you plan on traveling quite a bit. Hopefully your first stop will be the ticket. I'll look around the the shallows at the big Hop then head high if I have too.

I put 250 miles on my truck yesterday and checked the ice in 3 different states (NJ, PA, and NY)...caught fish in 2 of em

Actually wont be fishing tomorrow,just checking them out and drilling a few holes to check thickness.Kids have half day so me and a friend will just drive around all morning... Hopefully will have a couple options for Thursday. Wont go out unless its at least 4" or real close to it so not even sure i will make it out the next day.

Theres a few places I checked with 4" but I didn't check either of the lakes you mentioned...I know I didn't see any ice on Hopac I'd venture out on but I didn't drive around the lake either...I know there was white caps on the main lake though which is never a good sign for ice $:-\$
