BIG PAPPA how shallow you fishing there?  looks like a swamp!

I fish a lake in north central Il. that looks like that (Shabbona Lake) believe it or not the water is anywhere from 12 to 30 ft. deep in some of the spots like that.

heres my first shack (used to belong to my grandfather).  it works well, and is portable, but sleeping in it for ellpout festival is difficult (beleive me..... we did actually try to).

so.... we decided to build this.

its getting close to completion, jsut needs the security system installed, the stereo system installed, and the beds put in.

it will sleep 4.  two single beds and a double
8 holes
12v and 110v
eagles may fly....but weasles don't get sucked into jet engines

Here's the house on it's first season.  This fall will add several little additions to make it more comfortable.

Cheers to winter coming!

oh yeah it is!
I went to a 4" stack on the stove this year to get the wood to burn a little slower.  Plus I'm putting a window in the back wall to get more air in there.

well.... got mine almost finished this past weekend.  we built a "futon" that leans against the wall, then folds flat for a double bed.  built two bunks in the back. carpet and trim.... all thats left is to mount the speakers and get some window coverings.

what do you think?

(sent the girlfriend up to test out the top bunk  ;)  )

NICE!  I take it, you don't leave it out on the ice much?  Or do you and block it up when not in use?
Just curious. :)

I did.  It's a rubber coated nylon I picked up at a fabric store.  The windows are thick flexible plastic sewn in.
