Title: buddy heater stripped control knob
Post by: Cook078 on Jan 01, 2019, 12:51 PM
Hello, just wondering if anyone else has ran into this...I stripped the red knob that controls the settings... I have emailed the company, but just figured I ask if anyone has done this...it seems like a regular knob for a gas stove might work?  or bbq grill?  My bbq knobs wont come off lol.. just looking for a quick fix till i get the part...thanks!

I personally would contact Mr. Heater or a Service Center near you, order a replacement.

Teflon tape... or Locktite, they make it in various strengths from temporary to permanent.

If you can't find one send me some pics and I'll 3D print one for you. Had to do it for a coworker last year and worked perfect.

Mine stripped out as well. Nothing some good old fashioned super glue doesn’t fix. When I bought another one the first thing I did was pop the knob off and superglue that one down as well.

No need to overthink this fix. Just glue it back on.

Mr Heater has great customer service.  Depending on how old your heater is, they may just send you a new knob.
