Since it was almost 50 degrees today decided to tough out the wind an do a little nymph fishing on the Yellowstone caught 5 this being the biggest at just over 20"

I've fried them, deep fried them and have steamed them. It's been good all ways but I kinda favor a batter and deep fried myself. A box of beer batter whipped up with a beer or water and add salt and pepper you can't go wrong in my opinion. My friend tried boiling his fillets in 7up and dipping them in butter. He said it wasn't too bad that way. I might try that next time I get a few of em.

They taste much better if you bleed them, some guys cut their tails off, I just slit their throat down to the spine. I really like them breaded with panko, but instead of frying them i prefer baking em. Way lighter without all that oil soak breading.

I will have to try to remember to bleed them next time I catch em. I never have done that. It does make it better though huh? That's agood idea thanks
